How about hands on comparison of RAMI BD vs. SIG 365
« on: January 17, 2018, 10:34:38 AM »
If someone has an access to both firearms at the same time, such comparison would be very interesting. New SIG is the first quality sub compact with a double stack magazine.
I will look at both next week at the SHOT Show but it is not the same as actual hands on comparison. Hopefully, soojn it will happen.

Apparently, many have been asking about the 365 at my LGS. They're a big Sig dealer and are usually among the first to get anything new. None in sight yet.
Quite a bit lighter and smaller in W  L and H compared to RAMI; but I would guess the weight diff would become less noticeable once the mags are full.

Particularly with pistols, differences on paper in L, W and H do not really transmit to the real feel in the hands of a shooter. What is 0.8 inch is practically negligible.

Not sure how much it matters; but the 365 easily falls into 2017 IDPA BUG with 10+1 mag; probably 12+1 too. RAMI height apparently is just over limit.

Yeah, I think I'll pass on being the first one on my block to take the plunge on a new SIG. They've got an abysmal record these days, especially with plastics. How many new SIG models have been brought to market in recent years and then withdrawn due to terrible reliability and safety issues? I lose count.

Now the vaunted P320 / M17 is taking a bleep in the hands of the US Army now that they've adopted it as the best thing since sliced bread.

I do not like striker fired SIGs and I do not own one, but I do not think it is fair to cast doubts on any plastic SIG just because there are problems with P320. I also think that the very near future will show how reliable, safe, popular are the new P365s quite without comparing them to other plastic products from SIG.
I am sure we will not have to wait too long.

I totally agree with you mecenas that it is unfair to compare the 365 with the 320. No one here likes hearing about the problems associated with the P10C but lots will jump on the band wagon of  Sig's problems. A problem that they are fixing and taking care of a lot faster than CZ seems to be able to fix with their warranty work right now. I have been waiting over 4 weeks since they came back from year end inventory just to get an exchange P10 from them cuz it is somehow stuck in warranty department still. I have even asked for a refund to which I have not heard any news from anyone there. And before anyone says anything I have been VERY polite and asked only once just this week since the gun was sent in before Christmas. I would also like to add that since my friend got his P320 back from Sig it shoots better than the other P10C I do own here so they did something right in just over 2 weeks even.

SIG has become the General Motors of the firearms industry, particularly with handguns. I'm not buying one, especially since they use their customers as beta testers.

I've had one too many experiences with SIG's crappy quality control and customer service. They are not your father's West German or early Exeter Sigs...it's all form over function these days.

Uh oh 2.0: SIG USA has stopped production on the P365.

SIG's reasoning? "Shooter Error," as usual.
