10x Bushing in 75 B Question
« on: February 24, 2018, 12:39:53 PM »
Just installed the 10x bushing on my 75 B and when I went to put the barrel back in place it took a little effort. It appears as if the little notch/knob at the back of the barrel rubs on the firing pin enclosure as it gets angled into the slide. Is this normal or are you suppose to polish the knob on the back of the barrel?

Some barrels appear to be a bit tighter to get into the slide after the 10x bushing. One one of my 75's it basically drops in, on another it takes a gentle nudge. Honestly, polishing probably won't hurt anything, though I have not needed to on either.

First put some rounds down range, and the fit is tighter so removing and re-installing the barrel will be a little tighter.   Both of mine were very tight until after a couple of range trips.  they are still tighter than factory.
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.

Test it by firing first. If it still function and barrel removed with light tap, its great. Very desirable fit for upmost accuracy. Barrel will wear in some, but will provide good tight fit longer. If it affects firing function, you can touch up fitting points on the back of the barrel.

Thanks for the reply?s. I was thinking along the same lines to take it to the range for a while and see what happens. It?s nice to hear others recommend that as well.
