I just picked up a new holster for my Glock 19. My other holster was streached out by a Steyer I no longer have but fortunatly it fits my XD perfect. I was going to get another Bianchi profesional series holster but saw a Ross Leather IWB that uses a belt loop instead of the clip although the Clip on my Bianchi works fine I wanted to try the other style out. The Ross Leather one also has more leather that covers the back of the pistol than the Bianchi even though the Bianchi does cover the entire pistol. The Ross also fits like a perfect glove and looks like it will be very comfotable and has more of a cant to it. Has anone else used a Ross Leather holster? I am excited about being able to use it and see how comfortable it is. I would were it to work but I work on a military base and they would get a little excited. Please let me know what you think of these holsters if you have used them. If you think tha are garbage go ahead and say so I will just ignore you. LOL

Most of us who have been shooting a while have a box, somewhere, full of holsters.   We all try cheap ones, and some of them turn out to be quite good.  But if you figure up the actual dollars it costs to find a good one...

I have one of those boxes; its overflowing.  I even have a shoulder holster (I didn't buy it, got it in trade) that I've never used.

Generally, except for the most expensive custom holsters (Biannchi, Kramer, etc.) you get what you pay for.  For really expensive ones, I think you're buying bragging rights.

Erics holsters are great values -- and generally made exactly to your specs.

Walt's experience is that of many people who have been into handguns for awhile. Cheap holsters, and even the ordinary types produced by competent mass manufacturers, often sag, pull away from the body, are too loose around the gun, slip around on the belt, don't feel right if you wear them for long periods, or have inadequate fasteners that dump the gun when you bend over (nothing like wrecking a $75 set of grips or the finish on a $600 gun because you "saved" money with a $30 holster).

But everybody has to learn the same way, by looking in a drawer or box one day and seeing a dozen "inexpensive" holsters that are never used, the total cost of which could have bought a couple of really good ones.

It's hard to find a better holster for a semi than those from HBE, and maybe impossible to find one at his reasonable prices.

Thanks for the replys. I actualy love my Bianchi it is just that it does not work with my Glock after having my Steyer in it. The Ross one I got cost a little more by about $4 but looks a little more comfortable. I have a $70 Galco paddle holster and it works but it is esier to conceal an IWB and I can carry a full or midsized pistol with it easy. I hate compacts but to each his own. I have a cheaper sued type Bianchi that is a $20 holster and did not cover the entire pistol and man did the pistol dig into my side. One thing I do like about my Bianchi holsters is the clip because it is always secure and will not come of when you try to draw the gun or at least mine do not. The clips work for me because I wear a suite a lot and some times have to pull my coat of and it is eaiser to stow my pistol away instead of walking around with an empty holster on my hip. Maybe someday I will get a $100 holster but while I am happy with my $50 ones that probably will not happen. Although I do have a duffle full of $15 holsters lol. I tried on a Bianchi paddle once and it did not seem to want to stay in very well but my Galco does a great job and is adustable for the cant. I do see the need for having a good holster with the stuff that I read abut a knife attacker closing in at 2.5 sec you can not afford to have to fumble for your pistol or have your little foam sleave come out with your pistol. I like discussing this type of topic on this forum because on the other forum I frequent people would just say "Hey if you do not have a mucho doller holster and belt and a $1500 custom gun you are not in style with the gun fad." I do not mind spending money but want to know why I am spending the money. Any way thanks for all your input guys and any more you have would be apriciated. I am thinking of a Don-Hume cocked and locked holster for my 1911.

I have a Ross belt holster for my 1911 that I wear on duty.  It is very well made.  I also wear a Ross gunbelt.  Other officers here have bought the belts and love them.  JMO

Let me add my two thumbs up for Eric's holsters.  I have one for my P-01/CZ 75 Compact .40 and could not be more pleased with fit and quality.  Was about to order one for my HiPowers, but I've overspent my mad money with a CZ82 and vacation, so I'm going to have to take a few months to recover.  :)

I just got back from vacation on lake malone in KY. Great time. I took my new holster from Ross leather and it was great. Comfortable, secure, and a great fit for the pistol. I think my $44 was well spent.

When I can afford it again, I'll get another HBE rig for my PO!, but in the meantime a cheapo nylon Orca Bodyguard IWB works very well as a placeholder!

Congradulations Brasman.
I enjoy holsters as well,  Bianchi, Uncle Mikes, Fobus,  Desantis, etc.  Glad you found one that you like.
Its a highly personal thing, as long as it works for you.
