New to CZ pistols - just got an SP01 Tactical.
« on: March 22, 2018, 11:10:51 AM »
I just got my first CZ75 pistol. Its a SP-01 tactical model.

Here are my first impressions on the gun and a couple of  questions:

First, I think that such a nice gun should not have come from the factory with plastic spring guide... But that was easily enough fixed and so I just ordered a steel one!

Second: It also only came with just two mags.!!! My Glocks all came with three! Again I ordered another one. Problem solved.

But I want to change out the factory rubber grips for something thinner that will help my wife grip the gun better. Where can I find the thinnest grips for this thing?

ALSO, It seems to me that the trigger travel back to reset is veeeeery long.  Can this be adjusted or fixed? If so, who does this,

Thank you all !!!

Congrats!

Lok Bogie Thin grips seem to be popular. I personally like the Henning grips. I?m sure you could find a set of Shadow2 grips for a reasonable price and get what you want out of it.

As far as the reset, I?m not positive but I believe that?s the nature of a Firing Pin Block pistols. From what I understand it can be removed and a few trigger mechanism components that can be swapped after to improve it.

I also have LOK grips on multiple CZs and they work well.  Bogie pattern is aggressive, but there are other less aggressive patterns.

Am I to understand that any grip that will fit the Shadow 2 will also fit the CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical???? Is that correct??

Again, Thank you.

Cajun Gun Works has the parts to solve your trigger.

Forgive the dumb question... but if I just want the gun smoothed out (trigger and slide parts, etc.), can I just have that done? Who should I send it to and what would it cost and how long would it take to get back?

Thanks!!!!

Won't help the long reset, but dry fire and shooting smoothed out mine a good bit and the CGW thin aluminum grips are a good bit thinner than the oem grips.

You can get the CGW short reset system, if you do not want to send the pistol in I would find a local gunsmith that does work on CZ?s there are a couple where I am. I just choose to let CGW do mine and I am fine with the wait time.

Not exactly wrong,  but not exactly true either.  Many here can testify that polishing the friction areas and adding a few upgrades can make it really difficult to tell the difference the FP block makes.  The FP block lengthens the pull just a skosh more than models without the block.

My 75B has the block,  and My 75 Shadow does not. Both have been worked, modded and rode hard.  The B has what may be the better trigger depending on your 'likes'. David/schmecky/CGW did most of work on the B.
