So, I tried to give my Shadow 2 a polish...
« on: May 25, 2018, 07:47:16 PM »
I wanted to polish the internals, and install a couple of parts (recoil and hammer springs, extended firing pin, floating trigger pin)

Other than polish, I didn't touch the hammer or disconnector, and didn't disassemble the sear cage.

Everything seemed to go fine and (I thought) went back together fine.

But now, the hammer will cock, but the trigger won't drop the hammer.  I've taken it apart again and put it back together several times, but got the same result.

I've dissasembled my other CZs before and haven't run into this before.  But I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

What would be the prime candidates for causing this?

What did you remove and/or just polish?
...trigger bar-& slots?...spring in slots and lifting the TB properly?
Just a thought.

I did take out the trigger bar and polish it...

I'll look and see if it's sitting on the springs correctly

Well, I think that was the issue.  The springs weren't riding in the little slots at the bottom of the trigger bar.

Maybe they need to be bent slightly...

Thanks for the tip!

Glad you got her up and running again! I am curious what you weren?t satisfied with that made you want to polish and swap internals?

My guess would be not dissatisfaction, but the pursuit of perfection...
Musashi:
- In all forms of strategy, it is necessary to maintain the combat stance in everyday life and to make your everyday stance your combat stance. (situational awareness).
- You can only fight the way you practice.
- If you do not control the enemy, the enemy will control you.

Yeah, I wouldnt say i was dissatisfied.  I mostly wanted to see what difference the polish and springs would make.  The polish definitely cleaned up the little bit of creep that was there, although I think I'll go back to the 13# hammer spring.  The 11.5# is lighter, but feels less crisp, as well.

Mostly, I just like to tinker.
