May switch to SAO for carry
« on: April 28, 2018, 12:42:24 AM »
I?m used to carrying condition 1 with a 1911 and after putting more rounds through my new P01 Omega I?m starting to wonder if I should switch over to the safety and sao vs decocker da/sa. I?ve gotten so used to a 1911 trigger I find myself wanting to make my cz which fits better everywhere else have that same trigger.
This being said, best rout to take when chasing after that little to no takeup SAO trigger would be?

Thanks guys

One of the reasons I picked up that first P07 was the ability to run it cocked and locked (like my 1911's) after I removed the decockers and installed the safeties.

I have not switched my carry CZ 75 Compact for SAO.  I have converted a railed steel frame compact to SAO, but don't carry it.  I just bought an Omega P01 as a possible 2nd CZ75 Compact sized carry pistol (the P07 still has the #1 spot).

Trigger on the P07 (SA pull) is down around 3 lbs. now.  As is my carry CZ 75 Compact.

Do you feel the need to go lighter on SA trigger pull?  Do you just feel the need to remove the DA capability of your pistol?  I don't use the DA capability of mine as they are carried cocked and locked and shot SA every trigger pull.

I'm not sure if the SAO parts/methods apply to the Omega pistols (I don't think they do - different internal design/parts).
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

*EDIT*

I just like the feel of SAO triggers etc and that's what I've been carrying.  I like everything else about the P01 over the 1911 less trigger so I thought if I could get the trigger to resemble 1911, perfect.

I was farting around this morning and put the safety levers in rather the decocker, so, I'll look into a CGW kit and pick up my emails where I left off right before I "squeezed the trigger" on the DA/SA Omega kit for it.
