Picked it up at CZ Custom in Mesa - GREAT place, if you've never been there. All the staff are great, especially Stuart...and Angus, whenever he is in town.
So, this little gem,
https://czcustom.com/czc-p10m-base-pad.htmlFirst, putting it ON does take some effort, and just like I was warned, the entire spring/follower assembly DID go ZING across the room once...once I all I am gonna admit to.
There IS a gap at the back of the magazine, on each side of the little shoehorn extension that helps it seat in during assembly. When the mag is in the gun, those holes are pretty much covered up, but dirt/dust bunnies can still get in, so if you use one for your carry mag, I recommend cleaning it once in a while.
Once it was on, well, gotta try it out, right? Sorry, no pics - I was busy taking pics of my 1858 with paper cartridges...but that's another story.
First - 10 rounds was not goin in. No way, no how. 9 was the limit. No worries, she was happy with that. First mag full had a failure to eject and a nosedive on the next round. Cleared it, off to the races we went! She ran about 100 rounds through that little thing, full power SD stuff to wimpy target cast bullet reloads, and the new mag chugged right along with no issues. She was hitting well, keeping 95% of shots on an 8/11 target at 11 yards with such a small gun. Feed and function were right back to flawless.
Long and short - it works. She didn't notice any difference in carry, using a belly band, with the extra length of the mag, and is very happy to have 9+1 instead of 7+1.
Note - pay attention to the tips they give you on installing it. Seriously. As it is, I might pick up another one for her spare mag, too.
