P-01 Omega Firing Pin

I went to the shooting range loaded up and squeezed the trigger and nothing happens  checked the primer and nothing, tried again with the same results. Get home take it apart and the firing pin is broken, OK I get it stuff breaks but my question is where did the broken piece go??

Depending on where it broke the front piece might have gone forward, out of the firing pin hole in the breech face and fallen out of the barrel or down through an empty mag. well. 

I would check the firing pin channel just to make sure it's not hung up in the firing pin return spring or in some "gunk" on the wall of the channel.

When the firing pin broke on my Browning BDM it fell on the floor in front of my chair and I was sitting there looking the frame over trying to see what pin fell out.  Till I saw one side was a fresh looking/rough break on one end of the pin and a rounded end on the other.  No idea why it broke.  Only time that's ever happened to me.

Thanks for your input M1A4ME,  I cleaned the FP channel really good and there's nothing in there. This is a good time to get one of them CGW Extended Firing Pins. CZ would repair/replace under warranty but its not worth it to me to ship it to them.

Apologies for a little thread drift but this reminds me of my only FP break:  While I’ve had any breakages in any of my CZs, I did have a FP break in my S&W 625.  I used it in a match one day, shot the whole match no issues, then upon cleaning I noticed something wrong.  When I pulled the trigger the firing pin extended as it should but didn’t retract when I released the trigger.  Must have broke sometime in the match- I suspect the rearward impulse must have pushed the FP back.

This is one of the reasons I always clean my guns after I shoot them- gives me an opportunity to inspect them and perform any minor maintenance.

While CZ will fix it for you, I agree, this is a good opportunity / excuse to upgrade to the CGW FP

From what the OP typed I thought he'd removed the firing pin and found that a piece was missing.  It wasn't in the firing pin channel so it sounded like the tip broke off and went out the firing pin hole in the breechface.  Had that happen on my Browning 9MM right after I got it.  Fell out in the floor in front of the chair I was sitting in while I was taking it apart.

Right - it has a reputation for breaking from dry-fire.
I think the Cajun 61100 Firing Pin Retaining Pin is the improved replacement. Definitely replace it as long as you have it apart.

Yes, agree, but it's also brittle/fragile. There is some on-line chatter about putting a #83 o-ring under the hammer when dry-firing to prevent damage to the OEM roll pin.  The Cajun roll pin description states, "Tempered spring steel firing pin retaining pin.  Our 61100 acts like a mini-shock absorber and can withstand repeated impacts from the firing pin".   I'm inclined to believe CGW knows what they are doing.

Also - fergawdsake use the proper metric punch.    I see a lot of youtubers ruining pins or slides using the wrong punch.

1/8" roll pin specs:  SAE 1070 - 1095 carbon steel, Rockwell A 73.6 - 77.4, Double Shear Load, Min, lbs- 1,875 per ASME B18.8.2
Doesn't read to be fragile or brittle, but I'm not an engineer.

I didn't notice the Cajun 61100 Firing Pin Retaining Pin is also a split roll pin. No doubt the very same commercially available spring pin and specs that referenced earlier. I would go for this, as opposed to the solid pin.
