question
« on: May 25, 2018, 10:44:43 AM »
I have a p10c and have been reading a lot on ammo, my question if you shoot the faster loads like fiochi, s&b etc even though they don't say +p they are hotter does this still cause faster wear on gun, very curious about this thought. thanks for your help. :-\

European made firearms, CZ for sure, are sprung for hot loaded cartriges. Replacing your recoil spring every 4-5 k rounds or so, and inspecting the parts every now and then, will allow your P10 C to outlive most pistols in the market.

I called cz and they said +p and +p+ are fine. The manuel makes no mention of not to use it. Like the m&p9c manuel states "do not use +p or +p+ ammo".

I've been shooting S&B ammo through my CZ pistols for many years. I've haven't noticed any unusual wear.

I think he's just saying the question has been answered so that's it. Anyway I would not be overly worried about the gun wearing from +P ammo unless you are hand loading something that's out of spec. I've been shooting my hot hand loads exclusively for years and most of my CZ's have many many thousands of rounds fired with no discernible wear. I know if you read about this stuff on the internet very much guys make it sound like your gun will wear out and fall apart in no time but that's not the case at all. If you take good care of your gun keeping it cleaned and lubed that thing will likely last longer than you do.

Back in the day we used Hi Powers with supper hot ammo, and we shot a lot. The pistols wore out. I do not shoot that many rounds any more and with the more modern methods that go into making my P09.07, I don't worry about it. If I wear one out it will take at least 10 years.  This works out to replacement cost of $4,16 per month over 10 years. Big Deal.

Like mentioned, I was suggesting that the end-all be-all answer to your question was answered. Not actually suggesting to lock the thread up, was more of a joke.
