75 Compact Recoil Spring Orientation
« on: May 21, 2018, 07:00:35 PM »
All steel compact. Recoil spring seems to be identical on both sides. I seem to recall reading that the factory recoil springs had a small end ID and a larger ID end.

Am I completely missing something obvious or does it not matter which way the spring goes in because both sides are identical?

Mine aren't.  The 1911 (at least the GI recoil springs) springs have different ends but I've not seen it on the CZ75 Compact springs.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I remember something from years back about spring orientation as well.  But, like Flankenstein said, mine is the same on both ends.  Our duty Sig P229's definitely have a small end that's even painted.
If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer.

Both ends are the same. Not an issue. You could paint one end so you always get it back in the same direction but it won't functionally matter.

My spring is the same on both ends too, so are the extras I bought from CZ.
