you may need to shim it. My Jpoint needed a shim on my M&P to get it into range.
Once the shim was on there .... all zero'd in

I'm not sure about the dovetail compatibility, but kmanick is correct that some optics require a shim, or two, to get enough elevation adjustment. Getting the optic lower by milling does help to mitigate this, but I just had to add a thin UM Tactical 1 degree Delrin shim to get a Shield RMS to zero on my P-01, even
after milling! Check with supplier for optic-specific shims, usually sold separately; or check Amazon.
