I have been a Dan Wesson fan for a very long time. While I've looked at CZs pistols for a while, I've never really pulled the trigger on one, literally or figuratively. That is, until the last two weeks.
Vermont, unfortunately, has fallen to gun control legislation. I used to be one of the least restrictive states AND one of the safest. I think Alaska was perhaps the only other that rivaled the freedom of Vermont gun laws. Being a largely rural state, hunting is also very big. However, two weeks ago the legislature passed three bills related to gun control. One had to do with Domestic Violence, one the age of purchase, a third private sales and transfers and the last, a ban on magazines exceeding 10 rounds for rifles and 15 for pistols. It's clear there are those who want to push it further, but this was all they were able to do. The bills have not yet been signed into law, but that will likely happen this week.
So, as you might expect there was a run on my local FFL. Given the shortness of the time, you're limited to what they have in stock or what they receive before the law goes into affect. While browsing I saw a Shadow 2 Blue which I bought with probably eight magazines along with the three that came with the gun. Then, five days later, because I don't want to fill out the paperwork to go to my local LE or the ATF, I went back and found a Tactical Sport (2005 version, no color designation) on consignment. I've been wanting one of these for a while. My guess is that once the law is passed, given it's interpretation, my FFL would not be able to sell a gun with 20 round magazines even though it is in their inventory, because being on consignment, it is essentially a private transfer. So, I bought it.
Long story, but this is my question; What brands of 9mm do CZs, especially these two pistol prefer? What have you found that works well? I've had other pistols that just won't run well with certain brands of 9mm often because of how the rounds are loaded, often under powered. I'm thinking not so much here of competition, but target shooting.
