OK, practically the same platform. The P99s are the only striker pistols I own since they are DA/SA.

The Walther will be a belt ride only for me because of it's overall size. I can easily carry my PCR IWB or on the belt. Weight wise there's almost no difference but the PPQ feels bulkier.. The Walther loaded with 180 gr .40s weighs 300 gr more than the PCR loaded with 124 gr 9mm. 12 rds in the Walther and 15 in the PCR.

I had a PPQ M1 but ended up giving it my son. It's a nice gun but I wasn't as accurate with it as I was with my P-01. Plus every gun I had a different manual of arms. I would have to look at a gun at the range to see what controls were where.

I've ended up with a 75B SA, P-01 (SP01 Compact), 97B, and Rami with safety. I've switched the latter three to SA with the same CGW parts in each. They all have extended safeties except the Rami. I put the 97B safety on the Rami, which at least is bigger than what it came with.

Now any gun I pick up has the same controls and shoots the same.

When the knock on the door said “Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms,” naturally I thought it was a delivery…

I'm an active member on the Walther forum, and I've owned, shot, and carried 99-series pistols since the early-mid 2000's.  As far as CZ pistols, I've owned an 85B and a 75B SA, and just recently got a P01 Omega.

As was stated earlier, they are both pretty different.  I think your preference in trigger action will decide with is "better" for whatever role you will be using it for.  Both pistols are considered by many to be one of the easiest to shoot accurately compared to other comparable pistols in the same category.

I never could get use to the trigger on my PPQ M2. It was too light for me! I will take the P-01 all day long!

The muzzle flip on the PPQ is extreme compared to pretty much any other 9mm I have fired. The ergonomics allow it to return to target easy and naturally but I find follow ups a lot easier with the 75s. My PPQ doesn?t even qualify as a range toy anymore. I?d sell it or trade it if I thought I could get anything decent for it.

I also have both. I think it depends on the intended use.

The PPQ with its light, short trigger with the quick reset is a great range or games gun, but because of those same qualities I would personally never carry it.

The P-01 with the decocker is a great carry gun, and the trigger stroke is just enough heavier and longer from the decocked position that I am much more comfortable with it for carry. Plus, I like the ability to holster it with a thumb on the hammer, to be sure I am not about to make a Glock style crease in my leg.

Agree, I had a PPQ, and as it got broke in, the trigger got lighter, to the point that it was breaking between 3lbs 15oz, to 4lbs even. A little too light considering it's a fully tensioned, striker fired handgun with no manual saftey, if you ask me.. While practicing drills with it, I'd also get an occasional, accidential double tap..Carrying it like that made me nervous...I sold it, and I don't miss it..Phlyer's comment on muzzle flip is also spot on..

do any of you have both guns...if so which do you think is better? I have both, and can't decide

Inletman- I have a P01 Omega, PCR and recently got a PPQ 5?.  Depending on your intended use, either or both can serve you well.

If primarily for home defense or carry, I?d recommend the P01, due to the DA/SA trigger being less susceptible to ND/AD than the PPQ in a high stress environment.  I?d also highly recommend training for any home defense or carry to understand basic liabilities

If only using for games, the PPQ can serve you admirably. I do shoot my P01 Omega in IDPA games frequently and don?t feel disadvantaged at all.

If I could only get one, it?d be the P01, simply because I like it better & have far more trigger time with it than my newly acquired PPQ

From the factory I think the ppq is better but the p01 has a higher ceiling. Especially the ppq navy with the treaded barrel or the q4 tac. With the rear base plate and fiber optic front.

With that said the p01 with a kit from cajun gun works or CZC, a set of Dawson sights, and a better set of grips...that?s hard to beat.
