Updating my RAMI D
« on: July 02, 2018, 10:32:21 AM »
I installed the CGW's Pro Kit in my CZ 75 SP-01, last week. I am so pleased with that install that I ordered some more CGW goodness for my RAMI D.

I ordered the CGW reach reduction and short reset kits for my RAMI. The said should suit my needs perfectly for my RAMI EDC. Has anyone else done the same?

After a good polishing of some internal parts, I will install the kits.

Well, decided to install the new CGW's parts today. Slide is complete. The frame is a different story. The new disconnector and trigger are installed. However, while installing the new lifter, I managed to lose the tiny lifter spring . . . Duh!

It was much easier installing the Pro kit on my SP-01 with the manual safety. Nonetheless, the RAMI's decocker sear cage assembly was not as difficult to work with as I had initially thought.

Needless to say, extra springs have been ordered.

I installed the same upgrades on my Rami BD a few months ago and now have a 6 1/2 lb. DA much like a fine revolver.  SA is light and reset is very short I have done the same to several of my other CZ's and think it's $ well spent.

That is good to read about your experience after installing the same. My extra parts should be delivered tomorrow.

My main goal for installing the said is to lighten up the DA. Hopefully, the SA is not too light.

Hope it works out for you as you want it to.

I just went to their site and I guess $150 is not too unreasonable for the two kits.

I also saw the Pro Package for the manual safety RAMI @ $301. I'm sure that is a great upgrade but personally I would never spend $300 to upgrade a $500 gun... but that's just me. As Mama used to say, "to each his own."

Edit to add I do not shot competition, I'm sure that if I did I would probably think differently on that.. but then again I would not be using my RAMI in competition.

Well, received my lifter spring and completed the CGW parts installation.

Upon performing a function check, the gun will not reset in SA. Spoke with David about this matter. He noted that in some cases that the disco will require some fitting. CGW will forward instructions to me with regard to the hand fitting of the disco. Looking forward to finishing this particular project.

On a side note, David was quite helpful on the phone. I have also had the pleasure to speak with Scott prior. CGW?s customer service is second to none. In today?s world that goes a long way.

Hand fitting the disco was a lot simpler than I thought it was going to be. It simply took some patience and time. Having to remove and reinstall the decocker/sear cage assembly 3 separate times was the only nuisance. If nothing else, I am very comfortable working with the said assembly, now.

Not having a complete understanding of how the disco interacts with the trigger bar, I would never have been able to trouble shoot my issue without David's assistance. Thank you David and Micah!

Had an opportunity to shoot my updated RAMI this morning. I shot a total of 150 rounds without any issues.

I ran 50 rounds each of 124 gr. Fed HST, 124 gr. Freedom Munitions, and 124 gr. Blazer Brass. The RAMI functioned without any problems.

The DA is much lighter now and the SA reset is crisp and short. The 85C trigger that came with the reach reduction kit feels much better than the OEM trigger. All in all, I am very pleased with these CGW upgrades.

I just obtained a RAMI "D" and absolutely LOVE the way it fits my hand, sight, and technique.  However, I am a bit confused as to the difference between "D" and "BD".  Any insight?
Thanks,

CZ models with a safety are easier to work with than o es with a decocker. I attempted to install the pro package in my RAMI decocker and I was ready to pull my hair out. Several messages and calls to CGW and still frustrated.

I finally admitted I was beat and CGW was kind enough to let me send the pistol and parts to them to install. I was saved, and did not blink at paying their nominal fee.
