CGW Bushing should still be legal for CDP in IDPA but not SSP. A number of mods are allowed for CDP.  Also, hammer down on a decocker gun is the starting point.  You can still manually cock the gun before first shot after timer starts.

CZ 97B and IDPA
« Reply #16 on: August 29, 2018, 09:37:57 PM »
I have researched the CZ 97B quite extensively, and I cannot determine for sure the proper weight for one of these pistols.  Different sources depict the weight as 38.0, 39.0, 41.3, and 43.0 ounces.

None of the sources advise if the depicted weights are with or without an empty magazine installed.

I am interested in obtaining a CZ 97B with the "E" conversion.  I want to shoot the pistol in CDP Division in IDPA competition.  For the pistol to be legal in IDPA competition, it must weigh no more than 43.0 ounces with an empty magazine installed.

Can anyone help me out?  What would a 97B weigh with an empty magazine installed?  Does the "E" conversion affect the weight of a stock pistol?

Thanks!

So I was on the same quest a while ago with my SP01.  I weighed all my pistols at the time and posted it here:

https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=48834.msg291485#msg291485

My 97BD came in at 40.8 oz with magazine.  The SP01 weighed more than the 97BD!  You should be fine with the 97 in CDP division assuming it meets all the other requirements.

Cheers,
Toby

Thanks Toby.  I was able to contact Cajun Gun Works directly and they advised that their published weight of 41.3 ounces for a CZ 97B includes an empty magazine, and further stated that their "E" conversion does not affect the pistol's weight.  That will make the prescribed 43.0 ounce weight in the IDPA rules.

A final follow-up to my original post.  Received my NIB CZ97B and weighed it with an empty OEM magazine installed.  It weighs 41.5 ounces.
