I have a penchant for Mausers and love them.


Columbian Surplus 98 Mauser in .30/06, with Fiberglass Stock

I also have a Chilean 95 Mauser in 7x57mm Mauser, but currently have no pics of it to post.

Built this L1A1 FAL Sporter from a Canadian Parts Kit.  Built back during the late 1990's, the Thumbhole Sporter stock was necessary for legal reasons.
I do have an original Pistol Grip and Stock for it, but have left it, as originally built.
Note that it is fitted with an Enterprise Arms Muzzle Brake.

Yeah, the 7.55X55mm Schmidt?Rubin K31 "T" Bolts are very nice and quite accurate
Make nice "Sporters" too

I reconditioned two for a customer .... one for each use

I just picked up a Lee-Enfield Mk III that I love.  Not sure I like it more than my Garand but its so much fun to shoot.

My M1 Garand will always be my favorite. Working on rebuilding my Grandfathers Type99 arisaka that still has the MUM on it. Just got a used stock to replace the monte carlo style stock he had for it.

Please stop.  Not only is it detrimental to their historical and collector value, it's also detrimental to their inherent accuracy.  K31's were not designed to be sporterized and accuracy does not improve when doing so.

Semi-auto, VZ58s, Galils, and com-bloc RPKs.  FN-FALs, and their price keeps going up...

Bolts, hands down K31s.

My favorite is my IBM M1 Carbine.  It?s all original, having never been re-arsenaled after the war.  I have a couple other mil-surp rifles, but the IBM will always be my favorite.

My Winchester M1 Carbine. It's been re-arsenaled, and has a replacement non Winchester barrel, but it's a great shooter and so much fun. My second favorite is a Husqvarna M-38 short rifle.

My Mosin M-38 went down the road. It wasn't any fun to shoot.

I've owned (still own one) a few Tula SKS rifles.  I'd love to find a really pristine one with nice matching wood.  The one I have now belonged to a friend who bought it when he turned 18.  Between the two of us, it's nearing the end of its life...

After shooting a lot of .308s, I would like to own a true FAL while I'm still young enough to enjoy it!

by True FAL, do you mean one with the switch that goes all the forward to "happy"? Mine doesn't do that, but it is a 21" barrel with folding bipod and carry handle.

A 308 with happy switch is QUITE expensive and really hard to control on full auto, if it's anything like an M14. OTOH, I also wouldn't mind having a Rhodesian FAL clone someday, when funds permit. Something about the Right Arm of the Free World that is hard to resist.
