Going to buy my first CZ-75. On line purchase?
« on: October 16, 2018, 03:23:41 PM »
Hello guys - glad I found you all. Been wanting a CZ-75 B or BD for sometime and have accumulated enough gun money so here I go. I've been checking local (Phoenix, although I'm an hour or more north) prices and 600 and up is just more than I want to pay when I see what I want on line. First question - IAmmo has one for 489 that's in carbon steel and I think that's just the finish but just wanting to make sure it's not a sort of maybe inferior steel. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I want the best materials they come in, know what I mean? They have other models for more money but really all I want is the basic model as long as it's as good a gun as the other models, don't need a fancy finish or laser rails or beaver tails , etc. And has anybody dealt with IAmmo? How about Peak Firearms? They have a CZ-75B for 479 and 5 bucks to ship but are they a good on line outfit to buy from? I much prefer to buy in person however I've had some good luck buying on line. And bad. So what ever info you guys can give I would much appreciate, thank you.

Iammo is good to go, haven't dealt with peak. Carbon steel and stainless are the two materials used to make 75' frames/slides. You can always go to CZ-USA.com to check model #'s . Don't trust pics or descriptions from online sellers, go by model number only. I've bought most of my CZ's online.

Thanks for the replys. I see you moved my inquiry, hope I didn't piss anybody off. I'm new here and wasn't sure where to put this.

So it's just a matter of regular steel vs. stainless. Not one necessarily better than the other as far as strength or lack of it, stainless being a bit harder maybe because of the chrome in the mix? Sure is prettier but I'm OK with basic black. I will check out the CZ-USA website and get more details. And then a 75. And thanks for the on line dealer info. Hey if you know of any better deals please let me know.

I use gunwatcher.com, enter "CZ & model number" and it will pull up most of the deals out there.

You are over thinking the steel part of what you are seeing.
The steel used to make CZ frames and guns is as good as you can get in the gun industry especially for a gun as affordable as a CZ 75.
do not over think or over worry about this at all. I am not sure what you would classify as "inferior steel" but just saying Carbon steel is like saying Vanilla Ice Cream. There is 1000's of variations and some are great, most are really good and there are a few that are not very tasty.

CZ doesn't make not tasty ice cream. You just need to decide if you want one or not. If you are looking for a reason not to buy one the steel in the gun is not going to be a legitimate reason. If the price scares you then that will be a reason no matter where you go because you found a good price.

Here is where I have bought on line and had very very good luck, service and response. https://tsswarehouse.com/shop/?filter_manufacturer=cz-usa&filtering=1&filter_firearm-type=semi-auto-pistol

go get one is my suggestion $479 plus 5 is a great deal on a great gun!!!! if you are getting the fever, I say now is the time!

clones that are awesome guns but not as expensive...?.

I kind of figured that but just wasn't sure. It was just the difference in price among the different models and how they stated "carbon steel" in the description that had me curious. Don't believe I've ever seen a firearm advertised as a carbon steel model.

Gotta get me one of those!

I don?t have any experience with Iammo or Peak Firearms. I bought a CZ 75 omega on-line about two months ago. I got mine through Gunbroker from Osage County Firearms in Missouri (I?m in Illinois). I?ve bought two other firearms from them, both were Sigs. They were very good to deal with and processed the sale very quickly on their end. Come to think of it, I bought my P-01 and 97 BD  on-line as well.

Good luck with your purchase and let us know how it all turned out for you.

I think they call out carbon steel to differentiate from their stainless steel, aluminum, and polymer framed models.

That is correct.  Back when they were all carbon steel, they emphasized the finish.
