Rami Trigger Pin Walking Out

Picked up a Rami a couple weekends ago and have been wearing it around the house ever since, practicing draws and trigger control. I have 300 live rounds through it with approximately 200 dry fires with a snap cap and o ring. This morning I noticed the trigger pin was sticking out of the frame a tad. I pushed it back in and and hit the search function on the forum only to find this issue has popped up from time to time on Ramis and 75 variants alike.  I immediately ordered the CGW floating trigger pin. Should be here next week. I?ll report back once it shows. It?s a little disappointing but thanks to the great resources we have here I already have a solution in motion.

That's all you will need to do. The original pin does not hold up well. I replaced mine with the Cajun pin and have never had an issue. Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks TNman!  I was really looking forward to some range time this afternoon with my new friend but I guess my other CZs will just have to get some extra love today.  Let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks that one shouldn?t own too many guns!

Installed the CGW floating trigger pin this week. Only took a couple of days to arrive and was very easy to install. It?s weird how short it is but it works. Ran 200 rounds through it this weekend. Had a couple of FTEs towards the end. The brass was literally refusing to come out of the barrel. May have been the ammo as I finished up with some blazer brass. Could also need a good cleaning. Either way she?s getting broken down tonight and cleaned up. Want to run a few other loads through without issue before carrying.

Exactly how did you remove the old pin and install the new CGW pin? My Rami had the same issue. Is this install able to be accomplished with damage to the frame of the pistol?

TNman, I could use some advice regards the trigger roll pin walking out in my Rami 9mm BD. Perhaps I can PM you? I had a "repair" done to the trigger roll pin by an in-house gunsmith at the selling dealer here in Houston. I took my Rami back there rather than sending it back to CZ USA.I also didn't think about doing it myself since the pistol was under warrantee. The pistol is about 6 months old. The gunsmith "repaired" the roll pin(I truly wished I had THOUGHT to consult the forum before allowing this gunsmith to do this work). The "repair" consisted of expanding the pin.

The gunsmith said he called CZ USA to determine whether or not they would pay for a replacement pin. He said they wouldn't. I have NOT called CZ USA to confirm whether of not he is being truthful. I was NOT called prior to the actual repair. He made the repair and then called me.

When I picked up my Rami, I noticed some damage to the left side of the frame. The gunsmith told me that was cosmetic damage and unavoidable with this repair. At this point I have taken him at his word. He admitted he caused this "cosmetic" damage. There are actual gouges around the opening(left side) where you can see the end of the pin. There is even some very minor "cosmetic" stuff on the right side.

After talking to a  couple of knowledgable gun guys, it appears he didn't do a very good job. So, I am looking for a solution.

I am planning on calling CZ USA and consulting another local gunsmith(Shooters Corner in Texas City, Texas).

I don't know if that aluminum frame can be repaired now.

Well, it looks like I can't post attachments. Not sure what I have to do here.

Mine was literally falling out. I pushed it through from the back end using a punch. Then I slowly backed the punch out while pushing the new pin in.  It comes with a slave pin too but I didn?t use it.  You need something though to keep the trigger spring from flying away.

Yes it was about as easy as it gets. I saw that post. That?s crazy.

Sorry I did not reply sooner. You are welcome to send me a PM if want. Another good source of info is the folks at Cajun Gun Works. I have called and emailed them numerous times and they are very helpful.

The dealer should pay to have your RAMI refinished. That's about a $150-$200 expense if done correctly. Sounds like you have sent your pistol to CZ for repair. The roll pin replaced would have been a simple 15 minute task. Hope all works out for the best.

Thanks for chiming in. Appreciate that. I have not sent the RAMI back to CZ USA yet. I did take it to an excellent firearms/gunsmith, someone with years of experience and honest as they come. They looked at the damage around the trigger roll pin opening(buggered by the gunsmith at the selling dealer). They tell me the damage, while it marred the finish, will not substantially effect the value of my RAMI. I plan on keeping it a long time. I had bought it as a backup carry gun. The gunsmith who did the repair apparently used the wrong punch. And the gunsmith actually is an owner of other CZ handguns! I had talked to him about doing the CGW concealed carry package, but not now. No way! Wouldn't trust him now.

I am planning on putting an additional 200 rounds thru the gun and see if the pin walks out. If it does I plan on filing a warrantee claim with CZ USA.

I decided that I didn't want to get into a pissing match with the gunsmith who did the work or the owner of the store. I know how good the CGW people are. When I am ready to install the CGW concealed carry package I will ship the gun up to them.

I kicked myself for not calling CZ USA at first and/or consulting the forum. Just one of those brain freeze moments.

I would add a pic, but I am not yet allowed to do so. At least I think.

To cover the scratches, you can buy a cover pen specifically designed for firearms. It's like a magic marker and I purchased one at my LGE for about $5. Sorry I can't recall the name of the product.
