Has anyone heard if CZ submitted the P10F, P10C, and P10S family for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection solicitation for 9MM Handgun?

The new P10 family seems a great fit for the requirements of striker-fired, polymer-framed, optics ready (larger two sizes), no external safety (except trigger safety) pistols in three sizes (full-, mid-, and compact-sized). The contract for up to $85 million is potentially one of the biggest U.S. law enforcement agency pistol contracts ever. The vendors were to have NIJ-certified lab test results of the proposed pistols and bids submitted by September 19, 2018, but I have not found any info on who submitted bids.

No, I don't believe so. I think the last handgun submitted for any US trials was the P-09 for the US Military trials.

I?m not sure but the extended lip on the P10-F magazine, which is not a common feature on full size guns, makes me think they targeted it for the Border Patrol trials. Such an extension was specifically mentioned in the procurement request. Same with the front sight having an orange outline. However I don?t know if CZ has the blue and red training guns that is a requirement.

Hard rubber training guns would be outsourced from RedGuns or a similar outfit. CZ wouldn't make those in house, not set up for it that I know of.

I guess that?s why the just came out with a version with no cut out on the front strap. I knew there had to be a reason why. David

No the blue and red guns law enforcement agencies refer to are not rubber lol. The ?red guns? are complete replicas that cannot fire live rounds. They are used for dry firing, weapon retention tactics, malfunction drills, etc. The ?blue guns? are also exact replicas of the issued weapon but chambered for simunitions for force on force training kind of like paintball guns. They are colored red or blue to be easily identified. They are sold by the actual gun manufacturer.

Don?t recall the exact model(s) but CZ has made so called ?red and blue? type firearms in the past.

Red guns can be either.

ASP makes rubber dummy guns for scenario training or what have you.

The manufacturer or agency can convert live guns into inert training gun and paint those red as well.

I've seen and used plenty of both and also yellow simulator guns (live guns converted to work with a simulator).

Hmmm fair enough. We use Glocks and the red and blue guns are from the factory that way. That is what the Border Patrol?s intent was with the request I believe, not the rubber ASP guns that you can?t do much with.

We use Glock and the only dummies I have seen are red rubber from ASP, the most common. However, it is rare to see one.

Agencies that have decent training use the factory simunitions guns. What do you use for force on force training if you don?t use the factory force on force training guns?

Airsoft is becoming more common instead of Sims. The Sims conversions for our P320?s are $200 more than we paid for the real gun. If CZ did submit something we won?t know about it until way after the selection process is done. It?s not done by the way. David

The triggers are completely different on Airsoft, I run an airsoft P-09 on my simulator and it has a long two stage trigger where the first stage is heavier than the second. Trigger is also significantly lighter. I've thought about doing a little comparison video but haven't been motivated to do it and my wife is having some health issues so a lot has gone on the back burner. We get some test results this coming week, so hopefully we'll get some good news, either way I need to get out of limbo and this funk I'm in.

We don't do force on force training, unfortunately, despite me asking for years, however, there is a good reason. 99.9% of the time inmates don't have firearms.
