Hello Arizona! (Goodbye Illinois)
« on: November 10, 2018, 01:14:10 AM »
Hello to all my fellow Arizona shooters!

As yo can see by the subject heading, left Illinois for better...everything!

My family and I have been here since late July, and we've settled into a nice routine, as far as work and the kids school.

Now its time to get back into shooting again...but only one problem, not really knowing where to go.  Back in Illinois I was a member at ASC (https://sites.google.com/a/aurorasc.org/asc/home) and it was great.

Googling I think I found something that looks somewhat related, Phoenix Rod and Gun Club (https://www.phoenixrodandgun.org/)

Just curious if any of the members from Arizona have any thoughts on above range or something else.

Thank you in advance.

2) CZ 2075 RAMI B
3) in search of the next one

Yup!  Taxes and probably some new Gun Control laws too!

Not sure what I'm going to do as I presently can't afford to move and I hate moving!

Check out the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.  They have just about any type of shooting you might be interested in.

Phoenix Rod & Gun Club is an excellent club, especially if you are interested in IDPA shooting.  Rio Salado Sportsman's Club in Mesa has a myriad of facilities and shooting sports available.  I am a member of both clubs.  PM me for specific assistance if you would like.

Welcome! I was hatched here, love my state. :) BTW, there is a LOT to do in the greater Phoenix area, lots of great eateries and museums plus the excellent Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Not to mention, gun shops every block or two. 8)
One other range not mentioned is MY home range, the Elsy Pearson outdoor range down here in Casa Grande. Bit of a hike for ya, thought, but it's free and city maintained.

BTW, one important suggestion - if you know nothing about the desert, right now is an excellent time time take a trip to Tucson, to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It's more of an interactive zoo with LOTS of great info about the desert you just moved in to. :)
