Leaving California and moving to South East Kansas
« on: November 25, 2018, 01:38:46 AM »
After existing in California for the last 28 years, it is time to relocate.  I was fortunate to find a new employer that respects age and the wisdom gained from 36 years of field experience.

Now the fun can begin.  Does anyone know of any Gun Clubs in SEK? (South East Kansas) Also Gun Stores that offer Sales, Service and reloading supplies.  I've ran across a few on the Internet, but I'm sure that there are a few Mom and Pop stores that have great service and could use some extra business.  Most of my new co-workers don't shoot the volume to justify reloading, so they aren't a great source for "the place" to buy reloading supplies.  Powder Valley is close, but their hours of operation make dealing with them a little inconvenient as far as reloading supplies are concerned.

Any first hand information will be greatly appreciated.

About two hours more or less south of them.  I'm sure I'll find a reason to stop by. ;)

Congrats on your move.  What part of SE KS? Wichita or closer to Pittsburg?

If you are close to Pittsburg,  you are near couple USPSA clubs, Bonecreek just north of Pittsburg and Two Alpha, close to Springfield.

Thank you for the reply.  I'm looking at the Parsons, Independence area.  Erie would be another choice. I have a job, but will be renting until the right property comes available.

Congrats on fleeing the Gucci Curtain!

Let's hope the Gucci Curtain doesn't move East to AZ.

I hope you got a raise. You will need it for all the guns you couldn't buy before.

I was so fed up with CA, I actually took a 30% pay cut to leave.  But without a house payment, I can survive with a lower pay rate.
