Nice gun - by the way, I may need to start a thread but who mills slides for sights on a PreB???

My transitional is my avatar.  The trigger puts S&W revolvers to shame.

BTW - the LOK grips fit to the "T"!  Those little screws with washers are a GREAT feature - they fit securely and stay that way without messing with lock tight compound.

Thanks, it's my favorite pistol by far. CGW can mill you a front dovetail that uses the same type of sight that's used in the Rami. Their solution retains the bushing as well.

I believe they use common 1911 cross dovetail sights so pretty much anything is available.

I've now read that the RAMI front DT is the same as NOVAK.  So... if the rear is 1911 compatible, this is great news - there are better options on the 1911 side than the CZ side.

The rear isn't 1911 compatible. If it's the old pre-b dovetail, it's smaller than the B dovetail. (IIRC)

I will probably keep it the same.  They aren't that bad.  This one has a little channel in it to keep a layer of paint in - not bad.

To do it right, it can be more than $300 to do both sights - and do it right.  I'll pass and live with the original form factor.  Vintage can be good.

I'll likely stick to just a good trigger job for now.  :)

I decided the same. Pre-b transitionals are $335 on GB right now. It's more cost effective to buy another gun.

Roger - I have a transitional.  It was SO transitional that I was able to finish the safety detent channel and install a B type safety.  The trigger was awful in that gun, and now it is dream like with some smoothing.  Great guns to work on.

The ones with the B type safety are nice! My ideal would be that configuration with a round trigger guard. Might be asking a little too much.

I've thought about rounding the trigger guard on my transitional and refinishing.  Also shaving the beavertail a bit.

BUT... the finish is a decent medium polished blue with only some wear on the grip edges, and it IS a specimen of the transition - so maybe not worth it.
