Thinking of a P10C or P-07
« on: December 05, 2018, 11:07:26 AM »
Which one is the question. All my CZ's are DA/SA or SA. Like the P10c but it's striker fire. Which would be the better gun? Any input would help if you have either one.

I've had both. The P10c is more ready to go as purchased. The P07 needed a lot of work to have a decent trigger... That's my experience anyway

The P-07, even with substantial tuning and parts has a very different trigger feel when compared to 75 models. The P10 is of course different as well but I feel it's an easier transition if you  shoot both regularly. If you like short travel/reset, the P10 trigger is better out of the box

After thinking about it, I WAY understated my enthusiasm for the P10c. I can't say how anyone else will like it though. It's a personal preference, feel sorta thing. What I can say is that for the first time in a while, I'm carrying a completely stock, as delivered from the manufacturer pistol, and I don't feel any need to change anything. Yes, you can find parts in the aftermarket to make it "better", but I don't feel any need to. If you like striker fired, there's nothing not to like about it.

I?ve never warmed up to the way the P07 feels in my hand. The P10c feels great, and even tho I prefer hammer guns, it?s a keeper. Now if the P07 ever came with palm swells, that may make a difference.

I have both and if comparing 9mm, then I?ll go P10C all day long.  But, if I want to shoot .40, which I do (a lot), CZ has made my choice for me and I?ll enjoy a P07 in .40.  I?m still bummed about CZ not producing the promised .40 P10C.

Both are great weapons.  When I take new shooters out, I?ll let them run a G19, G23, G27, P10C and P07s in both 9mm and .40.  For some reason, every one of them has come away wanting a 9mm P07.  The last guy I took out loved the P07 in 9mm, but his second favorite was the G27 in .40.  Go figure...

Depends on use case.   For a defensive gun, I am all for a good striker gun. I own a P07.  I carry the same size S&W.  I shoot USPSA with a Shadow, so DA is less of a problem for me than many.  The first shot with a good striker gun is too much better than a P07 DA, even buffed up a bit.  Civilian defensive shootings are normally low single digit number of shots.

BTW, I have a P10c ORS on order.
Don't mistake my high post count for knowledge or wisdom.   I just like hearing myself type.

Just depends on if you?re a striker-fired guy and don?t mind the short trigger pull on a defensive pistol or a DA/SA guy and prefer the safer, longer first trigger pull on a defensive pistol.  If you?re a striker guy, the P-10 is the best one out there and if you?re a DA/SA guy, the P-07 is the best compact version of that group you can buy!  Can?t go wrong with either, they?re just different animals!

I never was much of a striker fan.  I had a G17 for a short while, but sold it.  It felt like holding a 2x4.  I have owned several CZs.  Currently, I have a 75 Shadow SA and a Cajunized SP-01 that I converted to SAO.  They feel right.  They are accurate.  Triggers are great and they run shot after shot.  Same stuff every CZ fan will tell you.

I bought a P-10C several months ago and now I have two.  It fits my hand like a CZ.  Of course, the trigger is not as good as my steel CZs, but I've got it down to 4 lbs.  There is a little creep but all in all, I am very satisfied with it.  It runs and it is accurate.  I shoot it most of the time. Did I mention that I have two?

Both are fantastic guns in their own right.

Need more details than "which is better?". lol

What are you doing with it?

I?ve had both also. Definitely prefer the P10C out of the box over the P07. David

It would most likely be just a range gun as I'm carrying my P-01. When I got into the CZ line of DA/SA and SA pistols I made the mistake of selling off my striker fire guns. I'm starting to think that was not a good idea. I had both P10c and the P-07 in my hands the other day and the P10C has a great trigger. I'm leaning towards the P10C as of right now.
