97B Grip Thickness Dimensions w/Pics

I've been waiting quite awhile for somebody to make Palm Swell grips for the 97. My hands are large enough that my pinky hangs off the bottom of the frame and the OEM aluminum grips were just too thin for me. Needless to say I was pretty excited when LOK finally announced they were going to make them.
 I haven't seen any decent pics of them yet, so I thought I'd post mine. I've included some measurements(inches) for those that are unsure how they compare to other grips.

Thanks for the pics.  I have a set of the LOK palmswells and a set of LOK thin bogies in the mail.  My hands are a medium/large so I figured I would buy a set of each.  The aluminum stock grips that I have on my 97 feel pretty good for size but not grippy enough.  That is why I'm getting some LOKs.  The palmswells on my SP01 are just about perfect.

I sold my OEM grips, could you measure yours? It would be great to get measurements and pics for the thin bogies as well. It would be good if people could come to one thread for comparison purposes. I used digital calipers. For the top, I had the back of the caliper resting against the beaver tail with the jaws parallel to the top of the grips. Middle, at screw level or thickest part of swell and bottom about 1/2" up from bottom edge.

When I get the LOK grips in I will post some measurements.  My gun has aluminum grips on it from the factory.  I'll get a measurement on those before I take them off.

Original aluminum grips: 1.110"
LOK Palmswell: Top 1.215", Middle 1.385", Bottom 1.320"
LOK Thin Bogies: 1.180"

The LOK Palmswells feel the best in the hand.  I have a medium/large hand and even though they are the thickest option they fill out the meat of the hand the best.  The LOK Bogies are incredibly sharp.  When I get a chance to shoot the gun I'll try both LOK grips.  I know that the original grips are going in a bag because compared to the LOK grips, they might as well be slicks.

Thanks, guys, looks like I'll be abusing my wallet again soon  .  I went with the factory rubber grips on my 97 BD, it came with both a set of LOK Bogies, might as well use a wood rasp for a grip, and the  thin stock aluminum.  Both were too skinny for me, the rubber grips aren't bad, but they're flat, a little palm swell would do the trick.  Great info, and thanks again.

Glad you found this thread helpful. I've found that for me, aggressively textured grips only feel too sharp when they're too thin. Had that problem with VZ Operators on a 10mm 1911.

The Bogies reminded of an even sharper, rougher version of the grip on my XDs.  After the first range trip with that, I ordered a set of Talon rubber grips, best $18 I've even spent on a gun.  Had the opposite problem with my P-07, not enough grip texture, but the answer was the same, another set of Talons.  I keep some of the Talon grip material on hand, a piece on the front strap of my 1911 helped a lot, and I even put a couple of pieces on my Frankford Arsenal hand priming tool, that thing was so well polished that it was hard to hang onto.  Later, and thanks again.

3-16-2019 UPDATE:
I've decided I really like the 19119 OEM Rubber grips a lot:
1.) the "flatness" (or absence of palm swell) is just fine because the grip section's generous length puts the metacarpals well forward of where a "symmetrical" bulge would thicken the grip (i.e. knuckles align with the forward 1/3 of grip section length) so more rearward (i.e. halfway back) symmetrical palm swell wouldn't align with the metacarpal "trough."
2.) the finest-of-all grid pattern and rubber material tractiveness minimize the grip force necessary to avoid slippage.
3.) the extra width eliminates the "too thin, too long" single stack "feel" of the current "cheese grater" thin aluminum grips.

My Nephew's on-order CZ 97 BD is now only two weeks away from arrival at the shop, where he's trading in two Glocks for this sweet classic after experiencing what "soft shooting" and accuracy the CZ 97 BD offers.

Thanks for the info, measurements, and photos.  Very helpful.  My 97b came to me used, and had a set of wrap-around Hogue rubber grips with finger groves for a 75.  I ended up swapping them out for the CZ rubber grips which I like, but those aftermarket grips look nice!
