527 & Burris low Zee rings on a Dip rail?

Anyone know if the 527 bolt handle will clear a Leupold 2-7x33 using a Dip rail with Burris low Zee rings?

I had the components you mentioned laying around, so I spent a little time at the bench this morning to determine the answer to your question.
The answer is YES.


In the series of accompanying pics, you will note that I used a Bausch and Lomb 2-7 scope vs a Leupold, but I measured a Leupold I had mounted on a TC Encore and found that it was actually smaller in diameter in the ocular end/power ring area.  As is turns out, even the now discontinued but still highly coveted "Super Low" Burris zee-rings will provide ample clearance to the bolt handle.

That said, even with this low mount proposition I still find the scope to be positioned a bit high on my FS and Carbine rifles.  The definitive solution, at least for me, has been the addition of a quality leather cheek pad laced tightly to the butt.  It works and I think it looks pretty classy as well.  I know for a fact that it smells real good.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the info and photos majorKP.  I had about decided to go with Warne medium permanent style rings.  Now I'll have to give it some more thought.

I noticed the rifle with the right side of your rifle's receiver with the cheek pad is marked SDN MEXICO DF?
