Meguire's auto polish is good for making the insides of a mag slick, but not sticky. They are actually easier to clean after they are polished (carbon and gunk wipes right off).

HA! I haven't polished a vehicle in years, so I don't have any Meguire's polish.

I've never polished a car. One can of Meguire's is a lifetime supply of magazine maintenance.

Meguire's is what I used to use when I used to polish my cars. I liked it, it seemed to do a good job, and the cars looked good when finished. Maybe I will pick up a container next time I am in Advance Auto. However, I don't think it will help that junk magazine.

Meguire's will make a good magazine great, but it can't work miracles

if you use it to polish a "cz mfg" turd, you'll end up with a shiny turd  :o

Aim surplus has original mags for 82/83 $17.95 with a leather mag pouch. They are the real deal.

Second range trip with the CZ-82. The only ammo I can buy locally is Fiocchi, but it seems to shoot fine and fairly accurately. I shot over 100 rounds of it, with the two crossed swords magazines, and 1 CZ mfg magazine. The crossed swords were flawless, but the CZ mfg (I shouldn't even capitalize CZ) was terrible. First magazine full, no issues, second, failed to lock the slide on the last round, and third, four fails to go into battery, three requiring dropping the mag to clear. Time to toss that one into the recycle bin.
After the Fiocchi, I switched to Hornady Critical Defense. I put 50 rounds through. It was extremely accurate, and hit point-of-aim at 10 yards. Also, the recoil was pretty mild, much less sharp than the Fiocchi. Hornady list 1000 fps for the 95 grain Critical defense, while the Fiocchi 95 gr is shown at 1020 fps (on the Midway website). I don't think 20 fps can account for the difference in felt recoil, the Hornady seems softer than a 20 fps difference. However, the Hornady ammo functioned flawlessly (I did not use the cz mfg mag) and, as I mentioned, was very accurate. Another range trip without any pistol or ammo issues and I will feel comfortable carrying this pistol for self-defense.

A difference in the powder burn rate (i.e., impulse) for the manufacturers' powder may account for that. Different manufacturers use different powders and different lots of the same powder.

Anyway, it's good to hear you're getting good results. And good call in junking those "Khyber Pass" cz mfg mags.

I did actually find a good use for one of the "cz mfg" vz82/CZ83 magazines. There is a company that makes a front pocket magazine carrier (clips to the pocket much like a folding knife). They make a number of patterns, but of course vz82 isn't on their list (at the moment). They will be using the garbage mag to determine the correct mag carrier for the vz82 (or to make one if it doesn't drop into an existing pattern).

I'll post pictures when I get the new mag carrier. I already have one which is correct for P-07 & P-10c mags. In addition to the vz82 mag, I sent them a CZ 75 Compact magazine and a Kimber-branded magazine for an Officers' Model 1911 in 9mm.

A while back I picked up a CZ-83 in very nice condition.  I thought to buy extra mags and got a couple of those "cz" mags that have no dimple at the bottom.  These are garbage mags that never work properly and I am fair certain they are commonly known to be counterfeit.  Buying the real thing with dimple is the only thing that makes sense, they always work.

Post some pics of the 83!
Yes, several of us have determined that the cz mfg mags are junk. I won't buy any more, that's for sure (the one I have came with the pistol, a cheap way to add a second magazine to entice a sale, I guess)

Something else I noticed last time at the range. The cutout on the left top side, at the feed lips, where the follower contacts the slide stop, is made differently than factory mags. On the cheapy mag, it is ground thru the wall of the magazine, and leaves a sharp edge all around, and a sharp point on the rear edge of the little slot. I wonder if the cartridges hang up on the sharp edge as they are rising/feeding. It may be worth the effort to do a bit of dremelling and polishing.

I filed the crap out of the inside of mine - no sharp edges or snags and the mags still misfed. Don't bother wasting your time. The only spec met on the cz mfg mags is the price point.
