Pre-B phosphate finish
« on: January 08, 2019, 03:45:52 PM »
I?m a CZ newb and I am sure I will have plenty of questions. Hopefully in time I will be able to contribute to the site and help others. For now, though, I?m that guy.  ;D

I have a 75 Pre-B on the way that has a phosphate finish. It appears to be a transitional Pre-B. Built in 89, it has the rounded guard and no rib on top.

My question is, who is the go to shop for getting a new phosphate finish put on and is it cost prohibitive to do so?? ( yes I know that?s two questions ). I like the parkerized look so I?d like to stay with it as I am sure some will suggest going to the poly coat or other finishes.

Thank you

Google is your friend here...

Although I have no FHE with him, I'd use the guy in VT.

Hadn?t thought to use google  ::). Is it something new or what?? O0

Seriously, I researched via google for quite a bit and didn?t find much that got my attention. Hence the question on a weapon specific forum about a specific finish.

I guess I asked in the wrong community  ;D

Seems, to me anyway, that the guy in VT is right up your alley...seriously. The Google thing was tongue in cheek.

07 FFL, specializing, and trained specifically in refinishing.

The other outfits on that page are more nationally known, but few people look for a parkerized finish these days.

I take many things seriously. I don't take myself very seriously.

Life's too short, and I like to have fun.

Seems we'll get along famously. ;D
