Does anyone else like to race their vintage CZ's like I do?

Back in the early 70's I used to like racing against them.
I rode then what is today a chainsaw brand.

then the Jap bikes came into play and I never looked to the European bikes again.

I was down at the Barber Motorsports Museum for their Vintage Motorcycle Fest in October and saw a cool CZ Jawa set up for ice racing: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XjyVf6Vou8mfzt1h7

Those spikes are horrifying!

Did back in the days of John DeSoto....
and Montesa, Hodaka, Husky and even a Rickman.  Wasn't until I purchased my first Elsinore (and later a TM400) did I get competitive.  Oh, those were the days!

Umm, guys? CZ motorcycles and CZ firearms aren't even distantly related.

Much closer relatives than you are giving them credit for. The motorcycles were made in the former CZ weapons factory in Strakonice.

Precisely, eastman.  Thank you.

While visiting friends in Blatna last September,  the week prior to my competing in the European Classic Motokros in Pacov, we stopped to see the old factory in Strakonice.  The Czechs are understandably proud of their firearms/motorcycle history and the older folks are super appreciative to have lived to see the struggling industries (and indeed their entire country and that of Slovakia) rescued from ruinous Communist decline by the system that is capitalism.  IMO, in all of Europe there is no finer place for an American to visit.  I go often.  Beautiful, friendly, super affordable, and the best beer in the world.
