More P10 magazine conundrums...
« on: January 08, 2019, 10:46:27 PM »
Just got a new P10C - sku 91531 - with the reversible mag catch.

I ordered mags from Greg Cote and none of them work. It looks like they've changed the cuts yet again, adding another pair above the original P07 side cuts:

Does anyone have any insight on this? I'll contact CZ tomorrow, but I'm wondering if the mag release can be modded to work with older mags.

I have a new P10 C SKU 91521.  Ambi mag release.

The mags that came with it have the double cuts.
I bought a P07 this summer and the mags have the single cuts. They will go in P10 but hard as hell to eject loaded.
Right after I got the 07 I ordered a 15+2 direct from CZ and it has the double cuts and works in both guns.

Until someone starts offering a service to cut new notches in the old mags, or a person does it themselves, the old mags will not work in the new 10 series.

I guess this will keep me from kyping mags from buddies with older P10s.

Greg is getting this all sorted out.

If you're getting a newer P10C with a reversible mag catch, you'll need to make sure and order the new mags with yet another cut on them. According to the info Greg has (CZ doesn't even have the info on the website yet) part numbers for the new mags will be: 11421 (10 RD) 11420 (15 RD) and 11423 (17 RD)

This, besides the general great pricing and service, is why the universal recommendation for mags is to buy from gregcotellc.com!

Yes, they are the older production, so they function with each other's mags. The new ones out now and soon, will not.

I think the changes came about as result of all the people complaining about the ?stiff? mag release.

This makes me regret buying an original P10 EVEN MORE or any P10 for that matter. The ambi release works fine with a new spring.

Why the regret?  If I?m not mistaken, new mags will work with older guns.  So if you have an older P10, any of the new mags you buy from here on out should work in it.

However I believe the problem lies with if you have a stash of older mags, they may not work with the newer guns depending on the generation of mag release.

You might want to give these folks a call:  https://hbindustries.net/store/shop/p07-p09-to-p10-magazine-conversion-service/

Not the ideal course of action if your goal is to introduce a product to compete with the most popular agency firearm on the market.

"Bob! I'm out! Throw me a mag!" "Well... dang."

In a few years it should all sort out in the wash.

I don't think any LE agency has adopted the P-10 series pistol yet, but if they do I am certain they would get the newer/updated equipment. Yes, in a few it will pretty much be all sorted out except for the guys who buy used years down the line and wonder why the aftermarket mags they bought online don't work.
