What is the most popular caliber for Regular Steel witness?
« on: January 20, 2019, 03:45:10 AM »
I plan on purchasing a new steel large frame witness with the wonder finish so that my .45 Extended slide will have a home. I plan on selling the slide to help offset the cost. Which caliber should I get?

Either a .45 or 10mm Large Frame will host every other caliber or Slide length in the Witness Line-up, if you plan on switching from one caliber to another
I have a 10mm Longslide, a 10mm Compact Upper and a .22lr Conversion Upper
They all run flawlessly on my Full, Large Frame Steel Witness:

This Frame will also handle all other EAA Calibers
i.e. 9mm, .357SIG, .40S&W, .45acp etc
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

IMO, .45 ACP, but I may be a bit biased on that one.  ;)  ;D

How do you like the SAR? Since Brian isn't taking anymore work and the mags seem expensive, I have been holding back on that purchase.

Back in 2013, when Sarsilmaz started importing through EAA, a 14 round capacity Cz Clone, I thought it could be the next best thing, and bought one.  Being an all Steel Handgun and loaded with 14 rounds of .45 ACP, makes the SAR K2-45 quite a heavy Pistol to lug around all day.  With two spare 14 round Magazines on my belt, it's even worse.  I like it as a Home Defense Pistol, but carrying it, not so much.

Otherwise, it is very accurate and reasonably reliable.  You might want to hold one, before you buy it, as my medium sized hands are just big enough to tolerate the grip and trigger reach.
It is a very good handgun and I would choose it over a Sig P227, but then again, I would also choose a .45 Witness over a Sig P227.

Also note that some imported handguns are in short supply, due to not getting through Customs, due to the partial Government Shutdown.

I decided to sell my Tanfo slide and  pickup a K2 45. I wish they had one available in stainless though.

I have small girly hands but I love ginourmous heavy guns like the Limited and Stock 3.

I bought a SAR K2 45 in stainless about 9 months ago. Have been extremely please w it. I also have an EAA Witness in .45/22 combo. I like the Witness for caliber versatility. I like the SAR for 14+ rds and very nice fit and finish. The SAR seems to hold it's own in accuracy vs the Witness. As for mags, no worries. I bought several P-14 mags for cheap. work fine in the SAR just don't lock the mag back after last round. Use those at the range and the 2 SAR mags that came with it live with it on the nightstand.

I just recently sold my Extended Witness .45 ACP slide to fund a SAR K2 45 purchase, LOL. I think I might try to save up and get a Large Frame Lim Pro in .45 ACP later.
