You need both. I have my P-01 for carry and the SP-01 is my bed side gun. Just put the Pro package on the P-01 and well worth every penny.

My carry guns are a P01 and a 2075 Rami with a Shadow Line Compact as my 3 is 2 gun if one of the others were to go down.
That said and all I still say you don?t need a P01 for your stated needs and the 97 is by far the better next gun for you.
That is until you wake up one day and decide you don?t like the Glock for carry anymore, then you?ll need a P01.

Well, I ended up getting the P01.  I bought a used one from a guy local to me for a great deal.  I really like it.  Its light and fits in my hand great.  Its soo much lighter than the SP01.

Now its time to save for the 97.

Do you need it? Well that can only really be answered by you. Since you have an SP01, then the P01 would compliment it nicely. You can use the SP01 mags in the P01 as well. My first CZ is my SP01 Tac FDE and it is my favorite handgun in my safe. I may not shoot it all the time, but when I do it is amazing.

I actually have eyed the P01 for a while now and finally just went for it. Ordered a P-01 Omega UG SR from CZ and it will be in this week.

Hiya TrippieP,and thx for starting your still popular thread. Shall be interested to see what ya end up deciding. My PO-2 omega was my first and the shadow PO-1 my second so I was glad to dedicate the smaller, lighter,of the two for carry and the shadow to the range. The heavier with the longer barrel seemed easier and more accurate, so more fun to shoot. I have a 97b in our ads here, its quite accurate, but think its weight and size is not realistic as a carry, but range gun or to add to your collection is a fine idea. Let us see what ya decided. And you can always recycle the g23, I've found it works better as a door shop than downrange, ha.  Be well.

I bought an SP01 a few months ago and think its great for HD (bed side gun) and it's fantastic at the range, but its heavy and not preferable for carry, so I need to get a P01 also, which I am planning to do.  I have a S&W Shield in 9mm but that's for summer clothing. A P01 will be a nice middle ground between the Shield and the SP01.

I've had the Shield for a few years and really like it for a compact but only had revolvers for my full size guns so  I bought a 97 B right before I got the SP01 and also want Tactical Sport now.  And I want a P07 but can't get one because California politics suck, there are no polymer framed CZs on the DOJ roster.

I think I have the CZ bug. I just feel that CZ is one of the best value for your money right now.

That?s a tough question.  I have both a P01 and an SP01, but also carry a Glock 23.  If I had to choose, I?d let the SP01 go before the P01 only because I like shooting the P01 more than the SP01.  The SP01 is a sweet shooter, but there?s something about a P01 that just feels perfectly balanced.  The P01 also makes a great carry gun and with the SP01 base plates, you can run 16 round mags that fit like they were designed around the P01.

If you have no intention of carrying the P01, then maybe just sticking with the SP01 might be a good choice.  When I say that I enjoy shooting the P01 better, it?s when practicing shooting in a pistol bay with an array of steel targets.  It?s practicing defensive shooting with quick transitions that makes the P01 shine.  If limited to punching paper, I?d stick with the SP01.

Considering the very same question!  Currently have a SP-01 since it is on the Commie-fornia "roster".  However been hearing lots of good feedback about the P-01 and P-09 too.  For CCW learning towards a 2075 BD but again, due to restrictions firmly beyond my control, if I end up getting a RAMI it cannot be the decocker version.   :(  That said if you can afford the P01 and think it can serve you well as a CCW, sure buy it!  Please keep us updated on your decision and post pictures too.
WTB PM if you got any for sale:
CZ 75 SHORT RAIL (factory blued)
CZ 75 PRE-B (factory blued).

My P01 is a better shooter than my SP01.
Actually was comtemplating a CZ97 as well and got a SAR K2 and it's incredible.
Thinking of selling my SP01 to get another.
