Thanks for the advice. When I assembled the magazines the last time, I sprayed a little dry lube on the springs but assembled everything
else dry.
I'm regular about cleaning the gun itself, and already discovered the crud build up near the extractor, breech face and firing pin hole. I have
about 1000 rounds through the Kadet now, and so far haven't had any misfire or extraction issues. I use Rem Oil on the slide.
I'll look around and see if I can find some Norma ammo and add it to the stuff I want to test.
I also was pondering what difference between types of ammo would cause a problem like this, and the only explanation I could come up with was
cartridge length. The SAMI spec for .22LR is 1.00 plus 0/minus .050", so I decided to do some measuring. All the CCI's I checked came in at about
.025" under, more or less. But, after loading a magazine, it looks as though there isn't much room between the wall of the magazine
and the nose of the bullets, so maybe I got somewhat longer rounds that were rubbing. Next time my magazines come apart I'm measuring them
as well.
Jeez, this is turning into an engineering exercise. All I want to do is shoot the thing...
