I went to the lgs to pickup a cz457 and a Ruger #3 followed me and the 457 home

That is a very nice #3 . The stock has had a LOT of work to make it similar to a # 1 stock . Factory #3 wood is kinda chunky . Those flats behind the receiver and on the bottom of the forend are not factory but are copying #1 stocks . The notch on the front of the comb as well. I've had two , a 22 Hornet and a 45 70 and several #1s . The Hornet was pretty accurate , around 3/4 MOA .

 Hounddogman  you are correct. I googled some pic's of #3's and the stock is different from the factory ones. I was so excited I didn't even notice. Thank you. The fit and finish is really nice on this one.
