I ordered a few more parts for the 82, and then off to be chromed. I ordered a square trigger guard and another set of springs. The slide stops came in and as I looked at the gun, I decided to go with a square trigger guard. About 2 weeks and I'll be ready. I like to shoot with a finger on the front of the trigger guard from my off hand. I might even send the round one too, just in case I don't like the way the square one looks. We'll see I guess.

How's the plating operation going?  I would love to see some photos.  I started working on my CZ 83 again since the flats on the slide had some scratching in the finish that I had re-blued.  I used 200 and 400 emery cloth to knock them down some more and then finished with some extra fine steel wool.  A couple of coats of cold blue on the heated slide and it's looking better.  I would like to get the bluing a bit deeper however.

I wanted to have it sent already, but work has picked up quite a bit. I've also been busy with a few other projects. I have all the parts, just need to send it in. I'm hoping to get it ready and sent in the next month. As soon as I get the time and can remember I'll post a pic of the one that's going. One other thing I'm thinking about is whether or not to send mags with the gun. Do I really need chrome mags, or just send the base plates? I'll probably just send 3 mags with the gun, I don't think I'll regret it. Oh well, I have time - Enjoy

I have parkerized, and done cerakote.  Parkerizing is the easiest.  It?s a toss up which I prefer.  Sniper gray cerakote looks just like parkerizing.  But, anyone can parkerize.  Using the Brownells solution, I?ve parked at least 8 pistols using the original solution.  Of course, complete disassembly, which is harder than a CZ75, requires some instruction.  J&G still has CZ82?s with chipped grips for $220 delivered to a C&R license.  Buy two, and learn how to take them down.  The polycoat is tough, but the metal is fine.  The wood grips from CZ parts, are perfect fit.

I picked up a set of grips from KSG Grips; they seem identical to the CZ grips but without the logo. And the price is the same.

Nice job on the refinishing. I had a friend who did Parkerizing, and I would try to have a gun ready whenever he did. The solution he used turned the metal a light black, I'm not sure what it was, but it looked great. Enjoy

dtomp, where did you purchase the springs, and was it a complete spring kit?

Nevermind, I searched and found the guy you mentioned in Czech Republic on Ebay. I bought a set from him. Thanks for posting that info.

I bought spring sets for the CZ 82 from buymilsurp.  I found that the recoil springs were too large in diameter, and unusable.  Having refurbished 9 of these, I don’t think replacing the springs is really necessary.

I ordered a set of springs on ebay from the seller in the Czech Republic. Placed the order on the evening of September 3rd, received the package today, September 17th. 2 weeks, not bad. They shipped the day after I ordered. Thanks to the seller, steel_2013.
