Installed CGW trigger kit into my Shadow 2.
« on: February 09, 2019, 04:08:23 PM »
Well, it took about 8 hours including a little polishing.

I cleaned up the hammer spring strut, edges in the trigger bar and inside the frame where things rub.

Kit came with an adjustable sear.  Followed CGW instructions and works perfect.

T5 disconnect went in with no fitting.

DA went from unknown, my trigger gauge only goes to 10# to 6.8.

SA went from 3.7 to 2.5.  Very little takeup before break

Reset is really short but still loud enough to hear and feel.

Really fun kit to install with great results.

I really don't think I would want it any more "slick".

If you are on the fence about doing this don't be.  With all the youtube videos and this site its a piece of cake.

I also feel that I know this weapon very well now.  I know what every part is, what it does and how it interacts with other parts.

Still have the barrel bushing to do, might try that tomorrow.

Special thanks to the folks on this site, CGW, and a guy named Spencer Frandsen for his amazing youtube videos

Safe shooting,

Made that shadow 2 super nice didn’t it?   Did the kit come with diso?  That barrel bushing is easy also if you have the socket and extension. I did put all mine in the freezer, not sure if it made it easier but it wasn’t bad at all.

Have fun

I did springs, bushing, polishing, and just last night the race hammer/sear. I held off on the disco because I might do the reduced reach kit and that has its own disco.  I will shoot it tonight but feels great.  That slight creep all but gone.

Kit comes with the T5 disco.

I was lucky, no fitting.  Put it in, tested it, perfect.

Really a fun kit to install and the results are amazing.

Great to hear.

Now, you just need to make a two hour drive east so you can shoot with us at Fernandina Beach and St Augustine every Saturday.

Thanks George16,

Only 2 hours, I might just do that.

Where do you shoot?

Would I need a membership?

Thanks for your time,

I shoot with SEPSA (Southeast Practical Shooters Association) at Fernandina Beach every second Saturday of the month. Third Saturday of the month is with SAPSA (St Augustine Practical Shooters Association) at St Augustine and fourth Saturday of the month is with ACPSA (Ancient City Practical Shooters Association) also at St Augustine.

You don’t have to be a member of any of these clubs to shoot. First time shooters, juniors and ladies shoot free.

All these clubs have a Facebook page. Just pm me if you need more info.
