CZ broke my heart
« on: February 11, 2019, 09:24:32 AM »
CZ no longer produces the CZ 550 in standard calibers.  Discontinued.  550 is now in magnum calibers only.  550 replaced with 557, push feed.  CZ broke my heart with this move.

Sorry to hear that. It appears that CZUB has pushed a lot of new designs on to the market in a relatively short period. With a limited labor pool in the region, an old factory layout (in spite of modern production techniques, still a source of inefficiencies) and surging demand/production, some of these less core, older products (eg., bolt action rifle models) will likely be shelved for a while, if not permanently.

I am very glad that I bought my 550 before they dropped the model. The change to the 557 would definitely have affected my buying decision.

Agreed.  I have two 550s.  Varmint laminate in 22-250 and a 270 Winchester in their Minnesota model.  Now for those wishing to have standard
Calibers will have to go and look for them on gunbroker.

I'm just bummed they never made the 550 in a left hand (30-06 that is). I had to force myself to buy a Ruger Hawkeye 30-06 in left hand instead.

Hiya and thx spyker for the thread, my condolences for the heartbreak. My first was the 2011 po-2 omega followed with the cz83. So others feel your pain also. At least you have gun broker and can prolly find a NIB or close to. I think K _dog had it worse, he was bummed over cz never even manufacturing his dream cz much less having to settle on a Ruger. Its true when they say life just isn't fair. Cheers. Be well.
