SA Safety compatibility
« on: February 11, 2019, 04:42:18 PM »
I noticed the SA has a different style of safety to the SP-01, using a tumbler system. I don't have an SP-01 any longer to compare, and I need a lower profile safety for my holster. Anyone know if they and/or the 85c are intercompatible?

The fleet:
CZ 75 P-01
CZ 75b SA
S&W 19-3
S&W/Aero AR-15
Remington 870 Wingmaster
M1 Garand

What model CZ are you talking about? There are standard and paddle safetys available for both the D style and spindle style safety designs.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Sorry, I have the 2018 75b SA, and would like to find a compatible ambi safety for it in a lower profile. I figured the SP-01 and 85c both had ambi safeties, but I don't know if the different designs of the safeties render them incompatible with the different frames.

For the CZ75 SA you can use the safety levers linked below. The SP-01, SP-01 Shadow use D style. The 85c, 85B, 75SA use tumbler style.

Don?t know if this?ll help, but there?s a fellow on this site that makes & sells R/H safety deletes for the 75SA. I think they were so a R/H laser grip could be installed.
Can?t remember his name but it was well made & worked fine.

Thanks! Glad I asked, because I was going to buy the D style, since it looked like the sear cages were the same.

Hello Katsu, Tok is correct, and thanks for providing the link Tok..

Also, if it makes a difference to you, the Stainless 75B ( later one with big beaver tail) come with a lower profile, tumbler type ambi safety, which seems to be identical to the 85C except it is in stainless. Not cheap either.
They aren't super low profile, but they won't create an issue for holstering like the paddle type may.

When I get some free time, I am going to make a block off for the right side ( I know someone here did that already).

Good Luck!!

Rich

I have an extra set or two of SA tumbler style safeties. I could sell you a set and file them down for you.

Thank you, though I ended up going with the links Tok supplied me with already. The 85c safety works perfectly, and is compatible enough that I can use the left side SA with the right side 85c, or vice versa.
