P-10 C stock barrel?
« on: February 20, 2019, 10:03:19 AM »
I bought the suppressor ready model with the threaded barrel. Anyone know where I can purchase a stock, non-threaded barrel? Not looking for a match barrel. Just mainly looking to price the stock one and decide if I have to have it. :-P

The threaded ones are everywhere, but I can't seem to find the regular ones.

OP, I'm sure I have an OEM non threaded barrel at the shop I can find. I'll be out the shop or the remainder of the day, but I can let you know tomorrow.

One of our match barrels would be a way better barrel though. ;)
Haha

I?d like to stay away from a match barrel because this is my edc gun and I really want reliability above all else. For the short range USPSA shooting I do with it, I don?t really need match quality, and having to deal with possible fitment issues is a big turnoff for me.

I?d love to hear what you have for OEM options though!

EDIT: If you think I should be talked into a match barrel, I?d love to hear your reasoning though. To me it doesn?t make any sense, but maybe I have bad assumptions about their fit and reliability potential.

The PM match barrel in mine dropped in and runs 100%.

Does it eat crappy ammo? Or at least Winchester White Box?

It's more reliable than the OEM barrel as our chamber is not picky on longer OAL's like the OEM barrel is. We've ran a LOT of ammo in our barrel that will stop the OEM barrel in a heartbeat.

I think my main hangup is this warning from the website:

Quote
Barrels will drop into 99% of slides. These are true match barrels, which means that there is a chance
it may require minor fitting. We will fit your barrel to your slide free of charge if your slide falls into this category.
Simply email us and let us know you're sending the slide and barrel to us for fitting. *We highly recommend a 300
round break in before deciding the barrel needs to be hand fit as in most cases the barrel will break in on it's own!
If this is not a chance you're willing to take, you're not ready to buy a true match grade barrel and we do not
recommend you buy one of our barrels.

I just sent a different whole gun back to another company to deal with reliability issues, and I'm tired of waiting around for stuff like this.

I really don't want to have to A) spend $60 additionally on ammo to break in a new barrel and then B) have to send it in for fitment if things don't work out... Just my current thought process on that.

The reality is if you want a true match grade barrel - it may have to be fit. Bottom line. Any company marketing a "match" barrel and guaranteeing you it will fit is not selling a true match barrel. If you aren't willing to take the chance of having to fit it (it's insanely easy and takes 5 minutes) for a superior barrel, then I would just get an OEM barrel.

Primary machine is (or at least was) selling virtually brand new OEM barrels on ebay for $60. I picked one up to send it out for TiN plating. Should have it back any day. They claim the barrels have 100-200 rounds through them or less... Mine looked like it had never seen a single round.

Might want to reach out to them to see of they're still available.

Raining_Brass is going to check and see if they have any. $60 is squarely in the "buy it without thinking twice" territory for me. :-P

Thanks, that makes sense. The "it takes 5 minutes" makes me feel a lot better about the prospect. I will say that at the moment, the price point is too much for me, but it's something to keep in mind in the long term.

Definitely still interested if you have any OEM barrels that you're looking to offload for cheaper though. I'm guessing you probably can't still hit the $60 price point that was mentioned in the previous comment, but if you happen to have some around, I'm interested in finding out what you'd charge for them.

We actually offload them for $60 used on ebay all the time. We just listed 15 of them on ebay about a week ago, but they're all sold. I'm sure I can put my hands on one somewhere.

I bought one of their match barrels through OpticsPlanet and it dropped in, though noticeably tighter. I shoot almost exclusively reloads and have never had a malfunction with it.
All this talk about wwb ammo being crap ammo, it?s always worked for me. If I have any leading at all I?ll run a few rounds of jacketed ammo like wwb and it gets cleaned out.
