Just won sp01 shadow duo-tone
« on: February 21, 2019, 04:03:41 PM »
Snagged me a new cz with my tax return aka "gun money". Found an sp01 shadow silver/black on gunbroker for $850. Was tossing up the idea of a shadow 2 after trigger jobbing my buddy's, but wanted the sp01 size for the occasional IDPA match as well. Excited to be stepping into the non firing pin block, safety, all steel model after all the polymer decocker models I have.

My favorite CZ, just converted it to SAO, and fitted a set of SP-01 safeties instead of those god awful paddles it comes with.

It already has this aluminum grips but will have to change out the fiber optic rear sight. Will the shadow 2 adjustable rear sight fit? Found a couple of those and the cz custom version for sale used.

Looks like it will. Shadow 2 has a longer rear sight shelf than the 75/sp01 shadow cut. Worst case it hangs off the edge a little.

Just picked it up. Pretty broke in gun. Original owner ground some of the thumb grooves off the top of the hammer to clear the shadow 2 length rear sight he added. Looking to sao this one and may need a new barrel bushing with a front sight replacement. Overall not bad condition. Will try it out with some of my reloads this saturday and see how it does.

Polished blue slide looks good. Bushing is loose at the barrel tip so that is a must. Switched the fiber optic rear sight ut for the stock blacked out one. Had a 15 lbs hammer spring left over and threw that in. Any one know the height of the competition hammer hooks? Since this hammer is ugly I want to file down the hooks for better single action. If I jack it up no biggy. Handy with feeler gauges and diamond stones.
