Will not / haven't used Remington .22 Ammo (in a Semi Auto) for years
Unless things have changed, they have the weakest Crimps out there
The Round folds while ramping into the Chamber
In nearly every one I've tried, you can snap the Round in two with one hand (never a good sign)
And as previously stated; they are very dirty
BUT, IMLE, Winchester is by far the dirties Load out there
Federal and CCI seem to be the best and most cost friendly
As for:
Federal Champion - these are about the only ones that have caused me real fits/multiple problems per mag.
Here's an interesting Video from 22Plinkster
When it comes to 22s, he's pretty knowledgeable on the subject:

The whole List:

What a lot of great observations and additional content!  I wanted to bump this up again and add a couple more bargain rounds to the list. As I?d originally noted my POU for the Kadet is for cheap fun with a gun that I already enjoy handling so much. Found some bricks of Aguila 40 gr SV on sale recently. They ran just fine.
More recently I rolled the dice on a larger quantity of Armscor 36 gr SV because the price was too attractive. Ran 300 rds of and 100 Blazers. Nary a hiccup in feeding, ejection, extraction. One round each needed a 2nd strike.
A decent 22 that?ll run ok on reasonable ammo, sweet. A really nice 22 that run really well with just about any ammo you care to give it?  Priceless!
Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms should be the name of a convenience store, not a government agency.
