« on: March 07, 2019, 07:36:32 PM »
My P-07 came with 15 round magazines....... not seeing much in regards to the 15 round magazine being offered unless you want to pay about 45+ bucks for one,.....mostly what I am seeing are the 16 round mags........are these the same mags and do they fit flush like the 15 rounders or are they longer and will they work....? ----Im confused about this......

Question about P-07
« Reply #1 on: March 07, 2019, 07:39:44 PM »
The old marketing was 16 rounds, but there was a bulging issue on P-07 models that made them move to 15 rounders about 2 years ago to fix the bulging issue.  The design was meant to have 16 in the mag BUT you were not supposed to pull the mag after and top it.  So later mags have a slightly longer follower to limit to 15+1 since 16+1 causes the bulge.

So 16s are fine, just don?t do 16+1

Did not know that, Marty.  Where was the location of the bulge?

On the frame.  CZ just didn?t understand that Americans do this. So the bulge issue was rampant.  I like the 16s but since have sold my P-07.  The newer mags are expensive, and the market is well flooded with the old ones.  Just don?t top off CZs with old mags.  The 16s are fine to use, but not fine for 16+1 on the P-07

As far as the P-07 yes.  I didn?t research other models as an engineer, only the P-07.  I do suspect that is the case with other poly frame models.

Clarify... you can load 16, but don?t do 16+1.  The gun is designed to take 16 in the mag... when the slide is open.  Not 16 and one in the chamber.

A 16 round mag is s 16 round mag regardless of what is in the chamber.

I'm not sure if my one P07 9MM magazine is a 15 or 16 round magazine.  I do carry a full magazine +1 in the P09 9MM, the P09 .40 S&W and the P07 .40 S&W.  No issues.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Now I know what you're talking about, Marty.  I just hadn't  heard that the 16+1 was the cause of the "bulge".  In fact, I don't think 16+1 is the cause.  It happens whether one loads it up 16+1 or not.  It's a materials design matter.  The polymer pulls away from the metal chassis a tiny bit is all.  It's not a big deal it affects the firearm in no way.  CZ changed polymer type, but I haven't kept up to know if they solved the matter.  I keep mine loaded up 16+1, I do have the "bulge", and have had no issues at all.

Recently picked up a couple 16 rounders on a decent deal.  There is NO difference in the mag EXCEPT the spring.  The 16 rounder is shorter making it weaker so you can load 16 in the mag.  The follower, base, and body are the same.  You MIGHT have to slap it in harder to get to 16 +1 but it shouldn't change a thing.

Also, it makes NO sense that mags could cause a frame bulge. Think about it.  The 'bulge' was because of a defect between manufacturing and the plastic used, and was only a problem in gen 1 guns, and to my knowledge over the years never a function problem.

Of the 15-round P-07 and P-10 C mags I have, they all feel quite full when I cram the 15th round in there with my Maglula.  I'd be afraid to break something by trying to get a 16th round in there.  I actually have two new P-07 mags and two +2 bases on the way from gregcotellc, so I will be testing getting 17 into those next week.

I thought about trying to get one or more of those 16-round mags, but I didn't find any good deals on them, plus I like the orange followers in the new mags.

Just to be clear, we are talking about the P-07, not the P-07 Duty, correct?
