It was a CZ weekend for me.
« on: March 08, 2019, 01:19:38 PM »
Hey Gents.

Last weekend I picked up a Bren 805 S1 carbine off Armslist. Still unfired in the box at a price that could not be passed on. So to compliment the rifle I bought a new CZ p10c. I'm not a semi auto rifle guy, more of a bolt and lever action type. I own a 527 carbine and a 455 rimfire so I'm fond of the CZ products. Since I live in a rural area,(have a backyard 100yrd range) any optic purchased will need to be acquired online. While I save for a Meopta 1-6x22 scope I would like to mount a inexpensive (Bushnell) holographic sight to my rifle. My question is what do I need to get the optic to co witness with the irons? and buy the way, what are the fowarg grips that mount to the bottom rail?

Thanks
Steve

Hiya Chansonbleu and thx for your thread. Well sounds like you are now a semi rifle guy ha. I can't speak to your optics needs but I'm sure research into old Bren post ought to do the trick. My bren was the pistol and in order to run a grip needed to get the ATF tax stamp, not sure if that applies to your Bren rifle tho. But the 40buck vert grip that mag pull sells is perfect for it, Be well.

Thanks Adrian and CZBren805.

Looks like it will be lots of fun and opens other shooting matches to me. Thanks for the link and the mag pull tip. Have to clear a path through the snow to set up some targets tomorrow. Can't wait to see what the Bren can do.

Bushnell TRS-32 red dot co-witnessed perfectly with the BREN 805 flip up sights. Cheap and worked well, but the 5MOA dot means no precision shooting past 100 yards. :)

Thanks armoredman. I went to the big city this weekend since the weather was bad for shooting. Picked up a Vortex Strikefire II. Cowitnesses on the bottom third. Now I really want to get out and shoot this rifle.
