Galil Ace 308 Pistol VICTORY!!!!
« on: March 09, 2019, 07:09:35 PM »
After selling the Tanfoglio I purchased I decided to get a 308. After a lot of research and based on cost constraints I got an IWI Galil Ace 308 pistol. I ordered a brace from KNS precision and the SJC Titan comp. I also have a hand guard coming from Midwest Industries. The comp and brace came today so I got them installed and ran to the rang.

1) The SJC Titan comp is more than I even hoped for.
2) We got put on the private range because the place was full. That was NOT what I would hope for...

That comp seriously made 308 feel like 556. Those 3 shots were on the timer in 0.36 seconds. That?s some serious firepower on target really quickly! I freaking love this thing and can?t wait for the hand guard! Now I need to save up for an optic.

Oh my my ..  barely any muzzle rise!   VERY NICE!   Congrats for the new toy.

In fact, your post is perfect timing..  I have been contemplating to add a Galil Ace rifle in 7.62x39, but several video reviews suggest that the top rail is not rock solid (my old eyes need optics help) and the Handguard is too fat.  That put me off a bit.   Do they bother you?

You're a much braver man than I to shoot a 308 piston in a small confined area

Hahaha I was too excited to shoot it for the first time, but I?ll never do it again.

Huh, I wonder if the 308 holds tighter on the rail bc all the reviews I read said it held zero...

I don?t like the hand guard much so I ordered one of these:

Dang, I forgot to. I two handed the pistol grip like a normal handgun. It was awesome but we didn?t take video. I?ll get it all the next time around.

Hiya and thx for sharing the vid, and yes a double ear protection place to shoot at..lol  And wagon i see what ya mean bout the fore grip, I prefer the feel of a 20-40 vert grip and save those buck on ammo. And there is always a little loc tight avail to help keep those optics where they started from. Be well.

How about a pic of the Galil with the new handguard when you have it.  I love the Galil, I have one in 556 with a Mepro Green Dot and is very accurate, it also eats up any kind up ammo including steel case without a issue.  I will be getting one on 308 for sure.

I was going to wait to get some video tomorrow when I sight in my red dot, but here she is and here?s the mods:

1) A Lage brace from KNS
2) SJC Titan comp
3) Midwest Industries rifle length Hand guard
4) Holosun red dot.

I?ll run Close Quarters 308 ammo from Lehigh for home defense. This can also be a SHTF rifle, WROL, Hunting rifle, etc. Is it pushing the envelope in some of those roles? Sure! But with the right ammo selection it can pull it off, all while being ultra reliable and very compact. I?ll keep ya?ll posted with video of the fun.

PS I really need KNS to make their adjustable gas piston for the Galil Ace in 308! Until then I need to make some sort of ejection port buffer.

If you have hand fully extended, are you having any issues w/ that brake so close to your hand?  Singed hair, etc?
