Cajun Gun works experience... buyer beware!
« on: March 15, 2019, 01:25:39 PM »
I?m going to make this short since my previous post was taken down in the CGW section. I recently ordered a kit from Cajun Gun works. It was a SRT for the P-07. Basically on the CGW site you can add an item to your cart and move directly to checkout without ever viewing the full web page. So that?s what I did. After the fact I looked at the page and discovered that there?s a disclaimer that states that the kit does not work with the stock hammer spring and a reduced power spring has to be ordered separately. I called CGW and spoke to David. Unfortunately he was not receptive to my argument that the hammer spring was integral to the the kit and should be included. Furthermore I should not have to pay an additional $8 shipping charge for a part that costs $7. And to be clear he told me that the stock hammer spring could pierce a primer! So I?m other words the gun could potentially blow up in your hand. This is specific to the P-07 and the kit can also be used for non polymer frames guns that also use the omega trigger group. So I guess they didn?t want to create a separate product profile on their website for the polymer frames kits. My biggest complaint was about David who claims to be the owner. His curt demeanor and dismissive attitude left me with a bad taste in my mouth and needless to say I won?t be dealing with them in the future. Buyer beware!
PS- he also told me to send the kit back! Maybe we should be discussing the definition of the term ?kit?

:-[ Vote with your wallet. Believe it or not CGW has a rather earned rep around here. Years of the most impressive customers service available. I do not believe that your warning will travel very far.

It sounds like you are warning people to read all the information and call if there are any questions before ordering.  That's what you should do for all purchases.   :)

I haven't dealt with CGW yet, but nothing you posted would discourage me from doing so.

CGW is loved here, and they've earned their reputation. 1st time posters that start with a thread bashing a vendor don't last long. David and Scott have gone over and above to take care of many of us here.

Sorry for how you feel, unfortunately you are trying to start an unwinable war.  The Milam family are incredible stewards to the CZ community and I venture to say an overwhelmingly number of our members have nothing but positive feedback on them including myself.

This! It's one thing if they never had a disclaimer and you ordered the kit and found out after the fact etc. They can't put a disclaimer on the product title page without making the website too busy/hard to read.

Not trying to discourage anyone. Just relaying my experience. I realize that I?ve rustled some feathers. That?s what makes this forum fun no? I really would have loved to have said something positive, but I couldn?t.

I won't pile on... and I wasn't a part of the conversation between you and CGW.

If they would have offered you free/combined shipping on the spring, would you have been ok and happy?

I absolutely would have been happy with that. Yes... indeed. Any compromise would have been nice. In my original post I explained that I owned  some responsibility.

MODERATORS
Pretty please leave this post up. It is so clear how the approach to a problem makes all the difference. If this person owned their mistake I am sure this would have gone differently. It?s such a good example for everyone to learn from.

1) Read before purchasing
2) Own your mistakes rather than blaming others.
3) if you are a jerk and blame others they are less likely to help you.
4) We?ll happily hear our people who have bad experiences because they always play out to be something wonderfully entertaining.
