As (I think) I said before, I don't think all 5 went bad, but I know that more than one went bad. But,
I hadn't figured out exactly which ones. CZ offered to replace them all, so I went with it. So far,
everything is working fine, so clearly, at least some of the springs were the problem. The usage on
my springs was inconsistent since I bought the 3 extras after I had the Kadet for a while.
As far as the slide stop goes, I've already checked it like you suggested and have the correct slide stop
in place. What threw me off initially was that I assumed that the two slide stops that came with the
Kadet would be the same, which they weren't.
The slide stop spring is fine, and as I said, the gun has been flawless in 9mm all along. I've owned the
gun longer than I've had the Kadet kit, so if that spring were giving me problems, it would have been
obvious a long time ago.
So, I think I've got it solved, though a bit more range time should confirm that. There was another post around
here recently where someone else had feed problems with his Kadet, and new springs solved it as well, so I'm
thinking that Kadet springs can be a bit inconsistent. I already checked with Wolff, and they don't offer springs
for the Kadet. But if I start to have more problems, I know what to do. My magazines are numbered now.
Part of the reason this took so long to resolve was that in the beginning, I thought I had an ammo problem, not
a problem with the gun, so I spent a bunch of time testing different types of ammo. And because it occurred
intermittently, it took a lot of shooting to get to occur enough times to figure out a pattern. In the end it was
easier to just change the springs rather that blowing through a bunch more ammo to figure it out.
Thanks for the suggestions.
