Not a CZ, but still a fun project
« on: March 27, 2019, 10:29:09 PM »
My son's 30th birthday was coming up and I wanted to do something special for him, i.e., I wanted a new project. He had mentioned a couple times that he was looking at 1911's, so my hunt for the right "starter" gun ensued. It took a month or so, but I ran across this at my favorite local G&P - a Para USA GI Expert, made in 2011 at their NC plant before the Remington purchase.

It appeared to not to have been shot too much, but it was filthy inside and showed some signs of neglect, like rust under the grips and on the small parts. I knew that they used stainless slides on these and that it had a match grade stainless barrel. I had a vision of what I wanted it to be - kind of retro-ish - and it turned out just how I wanted.

And yes, my son is quite happy with his present!

Thanks all for the compliments. This one has me looking for a Commander now.
Did I mention it's a shooter to boot? here's the first 16 shots getting it sighted in at 30 ft. Started a little low left, went a little high and then spot on.
