Is it mandatory to use the shock buffers in the Shadow 2?

Lots of people don't use them. Definitely not mandatory.

Primary reason seems to be if you don't catch them at the point of failure they can break into pieces and cause issues. I personally have never found it to be an issue. They last quite a while and are cheap. If you just replace them every 1K rounds or so you'll be more than good and never have to worry about one breaking on you.

So never using them doesn't shorten the lifespan of the Shadow, they are basically just for the match people to have a little faster recovery time?

Seems like a very simple part.  Has anyone noticed a difference with or without it?  As a newbie what should I do with mine?

You are going to get half use it, half don't for answers. Those that don't will say it falls apart and jams up your stuff. Ones that do say it softens the recoil. Totally personal preference. Cheap part to try for yourself.
