Covering the 18x1 threads
« on: August 13, 2021, 10:37:09 AM »
I know this question has come up before, but is anyone currently covering their 18x1 threads when they use a different than OEM muzzle device (including suppressors)?

What options are out there to cover and protect the 18x1 threads?

Also, do you remove the compensator retention device? It appears to only be removable if you first remove the barrel nut.

The gun comes with a thread protector that covers the 1/2x28 threads. The 1x18 threads Are not covered by a thread protector, they are covered by the flash hider. The flash hider must be removed to attach a suppressor to the 1/2x28 threads. That leaves the 1x18 threads exposed. I’m asking whether anyone has found anything to cover just the 1/18 threads.

Did your Scorpion include an additional 1x18 thread protector? I’ve often wondered what was supposed to be included, and don’t believe that the manual included any packing list.

Yes, mine came with a thread protector for those threads too.  Its notched and works with the clip that holds the flash suppressor on
