CZ 75/SP-01 Tactical/Shadow2/PO-9 Mags
« on: April 12, 2019, 02:32:41 AM »
Well, guys need a little info and thoughts! The good thing is I have some mad money and a NEW gun is on the horizon, just trying to decide on "THE ONE"! :P BIG factor is mags! I have a ton of CZ75 mags that work/fit into my S2/SP-01 & even my 07 if I needed them to, so my BIG question is will these same mags work in the PO-9? I'm on the fence between another 07 in OD Green, it is nice to have a backup to your main carry gun for range time, rotation, etc or just in general, a 2nd of any gun is nice! Although I have wanted a 09 for some time just because! I know their great guns and they are the Big Brother to the 07 so really same manual of arms and such just a tad bigger! So I know I couldn't go wrong with the 09 !
Now on the premise that I could be shammed and ridiculed to death ( :-[) I use to be a GLOCK guy and have a ton of Glock mags and have held/shot the G45 and its a really nice pistol and would be happy to grab one of them also! BUT if the mags from the CZ75 style guns all run and fit the same in the 09 I would be more inclined to buy a 09 ! Anyways some thoughts and ideas and info would be much appreciated, going to a Gun Show on Saturday so will be browsing the area looking for "that" deal! I'm sure one won't be found but its fun to go and look anyways. Thanks for the tips & I'll keep ya posted!

75 Mags won't fit in a p09 because they aren't long enough, but the 09 mags will fit in the p07 and won't be janky as hell like the 75 mags in a p07. P09 as far as I know will only work with p09/p10f mags

For whatever reason, CZ chose to make the P09 mags 'their own' and for now, keep them totally proprietary.  Lets hope they open them up to MecGar to sell them third party.  But, there is no reason to use other mags.  Yes, they are a bit expensive, but trust me and have more then 3 per gun.

Ah, bummer! I agree ya need plenty of mags and I fully believe that cuz that's why I have at least 16 CZ 75 mags,I have 14 for my 07, I am a MAG monster, LOL I only have 10 for my PO-1 pistols but will be getting more! Soooo with that said maybe I will just grab the backup 07, I'll get a couple more mags with the gun so that's good so I should be in good shape with my 07 guns. As much as I have wanted an 09 I guess I will hold off for now, I don't need to start buying "different" mags at the moment, I like to stick with what I currently have. Also, I don't mind paying for quality mags & yea CZ mags are a bit more but can be had @ reasonable prices if you look around. Love em or hate them until recent years with some of the single stack smaller models ya gotta give Glock credit for pretty much having an "almost" universal mag for each gun/caliber! That's why I'm thinking about the G45/9mm, I have over 20 Glock 9mm mags,, so kinda makes sense to utilize them!
Well like I said going to the gun show on Saturday, will look around and see what I see! Thanks for the info guys,I'll keep ya posted !

Im with you on the Glock mag compatibility, and thats why I still carry them and use for HD. I carry my 26 & 19, which the 19 mags are backwards compatible with the 26. Nightstand is a 17, and those mags are backwards compatible with both the 19 & 26. Im pretty heavily vested in 17 & 19 mags, so for now my CZs are just delegated to range duty.

Both the p07 and p09 are great carry guns.
