Original CZ 1911A1 models
« on: May 02, 2019, 03:35:45 PM »
I bought one of the original CZ 1911A1 models several years ago. I am 71 years old now and I am having trouble controlling a 45 ACP 1911.
This original CZ 1911A1 has had less than 100 rounds down the pipe and has no scratches. It also has the original box and other factory items. A fellow at work wants to buy this from me.
I think I paid around $800 when I bought it new years ago. I see Dan Wesson (CZ) A2 1911s going for more than $1,200 on the internet.
Can you give me your suggestions for what an original CZ 1911A1 (yes I know it was built by Dan Wesson) might be worth today?
Thanks. :)

Look on gunbroker or gunwatcher for a price.

I tried the usual gun auction sites. You can find a lot of CZ Dan Wesson A2 1911s, but I didn't find an original CZ A1. I like to match apples to apples when I am trying to establish a value.
That is why I came to this "CZ" site. I thought maybe someone would have an idea of my pistol's resale value. So far it looks slim.

$800 is a fair price. I sold mine last year and the best I could get locally was $800. They just are not going to go up in price like everyone thought. At least not anytime soon. I can buy the DW A2 locally in the $1100 range new.

1911forum.com would be a great resource.

I agree, I did not sell one but have looked at them and 800 will be the high side in my opinion unless you are willing to wait for the perfect buyer.
Good luck with your sale!!!
